IT took an hour yes an hour to hook up. But, I must be fair. He, my husband, is a perfectionist when it comes to the RV. So every step was reviewed in his head. I also again was reminded how strong he is. These metal bars and chains are heavy. So I watched, very helpful. BUT, I did use the electric button to raise and lower TUX. Not to minimize my skill of hand signals to back the truck exactly to place the metal ball exactly under under the cup holder of the RV.
It is like a dream come true. I’ve been thinking about this day being gone all summer. We have done this trip, many times with many different RVs so why is this different maybe new travel trailer meaning no inside steps.
We got up early to take the truck to our new RV from Brinkley. It’s a new line and new company. It’s black and white so I call it TUX.
On the road finally I am exhausted. I know because I look out the windows and are not recording in my brain what I see. There isn’t even music playing. We stopped for a Pee break and got coffee for me. The only thing I took notice of was a huge boat. He had 3 got that 3, 300hp engines on the back,,,,,he can move at 900 hps. You won’t see him go by! I got a picture but I have to figure out how to load it…
We are here and yes I remember this campground. Now he remembers the gravel on the ground. Amazing how he can remember everything about a campground. Ask him where is the leaning tower of Pisa he has no clue!
Now the process starts again to unhook the RV from the truck. An hour but it took forever to make it PERFECTLY level. I walked and did my stand up exercises. Then he has to hook up the electric before I can go inside. Omg, he had to figure the exact way the wires should fit and go. I get it, it is better to know exactly what your doing and how. It’s a new RV and a different kind from fifth wheel to travel trailer. Finally I can go inside. He is not done because he has to hook up the toilet and the water. We have to make sure we have hot water and also that the gas works on the stove.
Now you may think fine the inside. You can barely move. Oh my job is opening and closing the slides. I did fine. The electric came off and on. It’s not as hot as other RVs thank goodness. But, when your working I was soaked. Put nearly everything away. Where you ask is a good ?… I don’t remember where I put all this stuff.!
I think it was 8:30pm when he finally came in. I remembered we didn’t eat the egg rolls from yesterday I heat that up. He must have greens every night! Frozen peas will do. He want something else hotdogs…OK, I remember 2 in freezer and found them which is amazing.
Now, how many restaurants can you go to and have egg rolls, hotdogs with peas on the side! I ate while he was still doing stuff. I tried to read but had no idea what. I think I must have passed out.
