We get up and clean up get ready for our trek into Rockville, MD where Els mom lives she is having dinner for the family.  Suppose to be for Sparky, his brothers BD on the 13th..timing is off here, but it’s the thought that counts.

We are nervous because the weather continually is predicting doom.  We close the blinds so the cats can’t see it..ha.  They will be hiding from the storm.

So we leave early, 2:00pm.  We figure we can stop at SAMs. On the way we don’t have to be there until 5:30pm.  So as we get to SAMs the sky starts to turn dark, no darker and the the rain comes….pouring like you would not believe. El gets out to fill the truck with gas and he is soaked!  The rain is coming sideways.

We forget going into SAMs .  We start out on the Hywy  with this rain.  As we move on it goes from darker to the darkest sky ever, pouring rain, we thought here we go we will end up in Kansas with toto and Dorothy!  It was that frightening.  

Luckily El  remembered he bought these yellow glasses at a camping show. The ones on TV that say you can see at night.  He puts them on and they are amazing he can pick out the car in front of him.  it was scarey for sure. I couldn’t see anything.  

We get down into to MD and the sun is shining and the sky is blue!  What in the world! We call his mother to tell her we are on our way and safe from the storm.  what storm it’s beautiful here no rain! Imagine.

We get there it’s windy and some rain comes but not the same. We had a fabulous Jewish dinner!  OMG such a wonderful treat! Bagels, white fish to die for, lox, egg salad, berry salad, noodle kugel, and all the toppings like tomatoes, cheese, cream cheese, onions, capers YUMMO is all I can say!

It was great to see everyone. It is amazing that mom is going to be 90 and is redoing her kitchen floor to ceiling!  I on the other hand want to make it to 70.

Anyhow, we took enough leftovers for a breakfast YUMMO! 

We came home back to our RV, you can tell it rained but our Sanibel was just fine and the cats made it thru the storm.
