I am writing the first page of my travel blog a bit late. Today is the 13th. I want to welcome you to my blog. Last year, by the end, there were over 10,000 followers, and I still think I am making it up!
But, the trip preparation didn’t go smoothly. We went to bring the rv in for packing something around the wheels, OK? I’m not a car person. The place opens at 8 am. We are there, but they aren’t open? We wait 15 min nope. So we return the rv to the storage and go home! Call the place and they decided to come in at 830. Go get rv out of storage and bring it over only to put it in storage. While backing into the space, the truck sinks in the dirt, and we can’t move! They had to get another truck to pull us out! Argh! We brought it out of the lot. Fri, we leave tomorrow! So we get it and set it up in front of the townhouse. Of course, it sticks out in the street, and we get looks! it’s a cul-de-sac, and we are leaving tomorrow. Give us a break! Of course, the ones that know us understand. So, for two days, I loaded the rv. I even lost a couple of lbs! It was work! Clothes, food, refrigerator food, and then all the things that come under others!
We are finally on our way. Up the 95N hywy to North Carolina. Then you think all is good. We pull over because the tire minder is beeping! I close my eyes he opens the truck door, and cars and trucks are flying by! Luckily, the tire is fine reset the minder!
The campground is a nice place and quiet! The RVs here are clearly glamping. Defined as glorious camping! There are huge busses bigger than our 5th wheel (the one that hooks into the back of the truck bed), and we are 40 feet. But, you don’t see anyone out and about? We did try to take a walk to the lake. Then, pain in my butt and leg started in. I went to mayo for a shot, so I won’t have this pain. Today was the first time it didn’t work.
We did go to Walmart one day. It’s not close in fact, there is nothing close. We passed so much swamp right next to the road. It went pretty far. The area is called low country, and you can see why. A hurricane and the roads are gone. The Walmart was huge and clean. Another day we went to the UPS and that was huge and very nice.
I am in the process of buying a condo for my son, who lives in WA state. You’re right. He couldn’t be farther away. But he is my free spirited one and loves the outdoors. Where the condo is located is not far from parks and water. However, the process of finding and buying can be very stressful. But, the guys taking care of him, the selling agent couldn’t be more attuned to, the process and the loan agents are very nice and answer all your questions. We went thru the pre closing with a notary here at the campground. This coming week, the deed will be done. I will be happy for my son!
Well, I brought with me a tomato plant that has survived two summers! Unbelievable, right? Today, I went out, and the squirrels took all the tomatoes, and two plants between them had 20ish tomamtoes! I’m pissed! How dare they take them! I need to get a net!
Well, I think I wrote what’s happened so far. My cat enjoys his new toy, a tower with rope. I have to say I miss my stormy, our black cat, who we had to put down on our way home last year.
