We had a great day today. Did our morning chores and went into Burlington, VT to a store. Called cheese traders. A gold mine. The store has sections of clearance stuff that is a fortune in. PC. It is marked down more than half price. Not only that, but they have things you can’t find anywhere. For example, farro mixes, black bean stuff, lentil stuff, oatmeal and cereal with special grains, hummus, quinoa meals all for $1.-2.00 honestly!
Now that would be enough, but do they have cheese! So absolutely delicious! They had rectangle blocks (like Cabot blocks in the store) from New York $2.00 each! Then they have samples that you must buy cause they are delicious! But for 2.99 or 3.99lb. And some are imported, one was from Italy and one German! Now if that’s not enough! They have ends of VT Cabot cheese! For maybe $2-3.00/lb. YUMMO ! And all sorts of mixes, with horseradish, or bacon, or sundries tomato, or aged and etc. Oh my, I had a good time picking cheese. Wish my son who loves cheese was nearby!
Now, if that’s not enough they have wine in the basement level! So of course, wine I am in! We Went downstairs and checked out the wines. They have A variety, you have to have patience and look. There are sales but you have to look and maybe know wines a bit. But, we do and so we got a case of wine and a mixed case of Browns beer.
Four hours later with 3 boxes of groceries, a box of cheese, a case of wine and a case of beer we went back to the RV. Luckily the cheese fit in the frig. The rest we will find places here and there.
Our other friends, Pete and Laurie, invited us to go out on their wonderful boat! We grabbed our bathing suits, picked up subway sandwiches and headed out on their boat on Lake Champlain. They have a beautiful home right on the lake. It was a purfect night. She gave me a floaty with a cup holder. I got out of the boat and climbed into this huge float and grabbed my wine. So nice! Yes, the water was cold then fine. It was a great visit.
We went back to our RV, without TV.fed the cats.
Another great ending to a fine day.
