Sept 12, 2016 grouse Mtn lodge, glacier park, Montana

Well let’s start from the beginning and that’s at 2:30am!  We are going on a vacation with our travel group P.O.RT. From port orange.  We are to meet a bus at 4:30am in PO.   We get up and get in the car. We nearly hit an enormous hawk on the way out of Palm Coast. But, that was the only life around, outside of a cop on RT 100. We got to the church and the ladies are guiding with flashlights where to park.

We board the bus and head out to Orlando airport. The ride was easy enough, only very dark outside. We were given our 2 boarding passes cause we stop and change planes in Denver. We head to the gate and decide coffee and something to eat is good so we got egg white mcmuffins and coffee.  It was actually pretty good!  Or was it the hour of day?  We made it to the plane and I for some reason always get a pre-board. We got to get him one. I just walk thru no shoes nothing! He took and extra 15 mins and had to clear everything from his pockets and hold his hand up in a machine that sees you butt naked!

We nodded in and out but the middle of the country , like Kansas and Colorado, outside of the Rockies, are like square or rectangles all put together that go on forever! It’s so strange and there is not a lot of population either. At least from up in the plane. Everything is at a right angle.

We landed in Denver..huge airport, huge.  It was so weird to see signs for Honolulu, skaway, Billings, Jackson wy!  I am use to Florida, Bahama, PR,  St Thomas..not out west somewhere.  It gives you pause.  So we meet the group and get on the second plane. An ittybitty thing…commuter of sorts.   However, when we started to go over Montana the scenery changed and wow was it spectacular.   The huge mountains, and valleys and snow topped jagged edges.

We got off the plane and meet the bus. Everything went fairly smoothly.  The ride to the lodge was spectacular.  The valleys with honey wheat hay, the black cows, the mountains in the background so ever huge. Then there appeared flat lake, more like the size of a small ocean, the views and homes all around it were beautiful.  The only place we ran into anything that resembled a population was right outside glacier national park.

The lodge is very nice and modern it’s got a pool and spa and golf course.  We had dinner in the main dining room. Oh, elk and moose sausage for an appetizer!  Yummo! We had local brews I had drooling moose which was outstanding and dark! We ate prime rib and a chocolate moose where a piece was the size of a small cake. Stuffed. I’m so tired but in a good way.

I must share some pics
