We went to breakfast and started talking to this Aussie at the table. He said he got on at Broome, but we didn’t stop there! I thought he was joking and turns out he is the pilot that comes on and navigated us thru the pretty coast line. He is getting off today. He was such an interesting person to talk to we could have stayed another half hour. He is a capt. And worked on oil rigs, container ships, owned pearl diver companies, or for them. Now he owns a winery. Fascinating person. He told us the pearls are most beautiful on board, luckily they are not my thing cause the ones I looked at were $7,000.00.
We went on a tour from the ship. Our guide was a piece of work, long hair, mustache, no teeth and when we stopped for a drink, he was drinking beer and smoking! Yeees. It’s all good mate!
We drove thru a lot of towns, it is quite well built up. Apparently, it was wiped out by a cyclone. The further we drove the move remote. We were in the Northern Territory known as the outback. Hospital is an 1&1/2 hr drive away!
We finally after driving past huge fields of mango trees, and herds of buffalo with horns that go straight out, we got to the jumping crocodiles. We get in a medium boat and troll down this river.
A lady ties meat bones onto a strong rod and dips it in the water. Low and behold this humongous croc comes along and jumps out of the water and grabs the meat! Impressive. There were also birds that grab food with its feet traveling at a fast speed and grab it.
We returned to stop and have a brew at the local hotel and beer joint. Is this what the outback looks like? The men had long beards, tattooed arms, no teeth long hair, no shoes, okay then.
We came back showered got ready for dinner and saw a show a singer doing Aretha and Whitney, she nailed a Whitney song.
We tried a game show but we got tired. Tomorrow at sea
