April 5, Elkhart, Indiana

We get up to leave but the place is full of RVs.  Why, well, some have huge propane tanks [long term heat], wooden stairs or ramps, sheds, woodpiles all staying long term. Our campsite.

On right u can see stairs in wood

below, large is farm with house, on right top empty hywy, below huge farm

Above on left a propane tank, on right huge pile of wood

its crazy we left and got on the hywy.  There was no traffic no one on the hywy.  It is Erie and cold 43 at 11:30am. We drove past Indianapolis.  it was crazy! 6 lane hywy with hardly anyone on it. Electronic signs, stay home only essential trips.  We past shopping centers, no cars, we passed, hotels of all kinds, no cars! It is a wow!

we noticed as we move north away from the city there are farms huge with homes in the middle way back off the road. Our guess is corn. No animals. But, when there is green it’s a die for green!

they also have a white flowered tree. Similar to the pink in Kentucky. They grow everywhere. I read a Bon Appétit magazine.  I admit i no longer want a challenge.  I don’t want to make these exotic dishes anymore. I know I used to luv it, but while I still cook and luv it.  It’s got a be healthy, no cream…which kills a lot, and not crazy.

anyhow, the trip was a long drive, passing every chain eatery, most empty, it’s really spooky.  I wonder if you all went to church?  What happens if you don’t go?

well we have been to this campgrounds a lot. It grew big time. We took a walk and a kid was cleaning a landmark 5th wheel. We talked to this kid and he owned it!  Really he didn’t look old enough to drive!  We are talking over $100,000.00! Crazy!
we came back and I made dinner, soup with the kitchen sink, at a minimum it wAs warm! We decided to pack up what we could. We are bringing the RV to the shop in the AM.
tomorrow should be interesting at best.

hope you are staying safe and warm!  It’s cold here!

at least I learned how to add some pictures. 😁 not so easy!

  1. glad I was able to get in. It must be eerie driving down a six-lane road with so little traffic. And think of the trouble you would have if you didn’t have your RV — it would be hard (or maybe impossible) to find restaurants and motels. But you travel with all that.
