Well I wasn’t going to write a blog on this trip but I guess it’s in the blood because I had to start!
The first day was so long and the rain sometimes heavy didn’t help. We stopped at a Hilton. The interesting part the closest restaurant was Cracker Barrel. I ordered chicken and dumplings never had it before. It was so filling I didn’t even dent the bowl before I was done! Talk about a heavy meal!
Oct 29 we drove the second half. A lot more traffic and truckers by the thousands. I’ve never seen so many at one time! No wait when I worked in New York the LI Expwy had plenty of trucks. We saw one carrying rocking chairs, 100s of them. A truck lugging a farm equipment the wheels of which were bigger than my car!
The colors of the trees are so pretty, especially the red ones and bright yellows.
The roads were so switchback he loved the drive. My stomach was not happy especially next to these trucks inches away.
The mountains all around you is so pretty. These are real mountains, as opposed to palm trees! Ha
We got to the mountain loft inn, huge place. Now when I booked this a year ago I asked for Mountain View. Oh my goodness were we upset ending up on the 1st floor looking at a fence and air conditioners.
We were not happy. We spoke with the manger before we got to our room but when we saw the location and unpacked we just got more angry and went to lodge a complaint with her and the company.
She changed the room to the 4th floor which at least has a few of the colors. Not what I wanted but better! We already unpacked not only clothes but food too! Yup, we had to repack and switch rooms. At the time I was shot but now a couple of days later I’m good. I had a large gin and tonic with wine at dinner and l no longer felt any pain! Ha!
Oct 30th first day here. Last night we went to the local food store. It was packed. I mean people and carts everywhere. I never saw one so crazy! The check out lady said it’s Friday check in.
We were exhaust and it was raining so we chilled. I read my book he looked at the tv football games. The place is very nice we have a full kitchen, a huge dining table, huge living room and king bed with two bathrooms and a jetted tub!
We decided to go out to eat. We went to an all you can eat ribs. They were delicious! With hush puppies! So yummy!
Well that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. On the way back thru pigeon forge the traffic was insane. But we got to see all the thousands of crazy theaters and tons of amusement parks and stuff for the kids and young adults! Wow!
