6/27/23 Tuesday Gettysburg PA

I woke up and did my chores and decided to have a little bit of fruit so I could take my morning meds. By the time I dressed and came down for fruit, it was nearly 11 am.

I was excited because one of my life-long best friends was meeting me for brunch. She showed at 11:30 and we went off in her alpha Romeo not sure of the spelling but what a car!

I spent a lot of time looking for a place but we have eaten in all the best ones. So we drove up the main street, no parking except handicapped. Argh! I meant to grab my window hanger.

We ended up at Lincolns diner above the circle we found parking. It was sooo great to see her. You know when you have a friend forever and no matter how long it’s been you meet and it’s like yesterday! That’s what this was like meeting an old friend. I miss her. But we ordered breakfast. I had a Greek omlette, and she had French toast. We sat and caught up.

Then she left. I wasn’t sure what to do. I watered my plants. I went inside and looked at the emails and read my book, Drank some Port I do like that drink.

It was dinner time, and I made salads with leftover ham. I put the kitchen sink in the salad.

The day was done and I’m tired but so glad I had the chance to see my good friend. We have known each other for nearly 50 years! Boy, did I feel old.

Well, thanks for stopping by for me it was a great day. I hope you had a great day, too. Stay healthy and enjoy!

  1. You are so very lucky to have known your friend that long. Our family moved a lot when I was young — (Minnesota, Oregon, Washington) so I don’t have long-time friends.

But I did have some wonderful friends in Michigan (30-year friends). I know what you mean about getting together and feeling like we had seen each other a few days ago. But as age has come upon us, I’ve lost one after another. I just learned about the death of my last old friends from Michigan who we would visit on the other coast of Florida.
