7/27/23 Cave City, Kentucky

What a long hot day! We had a bagel with smoked fish for breakfast since we didn’t think we were going to stop for lunch. Then pack up and continue on. At least we are staying for over a week here.

The most interesting thing about the day is driving thru Louisville, Kentucky. We took the hywy that goes thru the city. It is pretty big. The bridge to the city allows you to see it.

This is also the only city that I know of that has a Jewish hospital!

Then of course we have all heard of the:

Huge stadium!

When we left the city, we were back to the farms and the corn! But this was so high you could barely see over top. When you could, it went on to the skyline! We went to Matins and got some corn on the cob 6 /$3.00.

Yumo!

Well, we were tired, and the heat is crazy. Now we are in Kentucky, and before in Indiana, we saw signs for wineries. But where are the signs for:

Now we are talking!

We are camping within the cave park. If you have never seen a cave park, it’s worth a trip. They are around the country in many states.

Well, we finally got our camping spot. It’s a bit strange as we are facing the adjacent campsite. They pulled in the opposite way. We set up and finally took the tomato plants outside. Well, the lower leaves got that yellow on them, so I started to cut them off. I was dripping wet when I came in.

But, ya know while all they talk about here is the high temperature. However, when you come from Florida, you add humidity, and it’s totally unbearable to me. That is actually why we go away in our RV.

We ate dinner, the first one we didn’t like! A pasta recipe with feta cheese. Once in a while, the recipe is not as good as it appears. It happens, luckily for me, not often.

We were so tired I went to bed around 8:30, thank goodness we have a/c! We would be in trouble if it didn’t get fixed. I watched TV and read my book. I read till I have no clue what I read. I know I’m sleepy.

Tomorrow is expected to be up in the 90s. Thank you for reading my blog. I hope I have given you a smile. Be careful in this heat and enjoy!

I don’t have any failed new recipes — because I’m too lazy to try new ones. Either it’s something left over from our eating out or it is something very simple — you are the energetic one! But a bagel with cream cheese and lox is simple and so delicious – haven’t had that since we lived in Michigan:(
