I honestly don’t remember much of the 23rd, it seems so long ago. I do remember,I think, for the first time this summer, I took my book outside to read. Thinking how nice and quiet sunny with a slight breeze. But no! There were golf carts going back and forth. To top that, they were mowing the lawns all around. I stuck it out for a little while.
By the time I came in, it was close to dinner time. But he made me an excellent gin and tonic, so I sipped away and enjoyed it.
August 23
I only had fruit this morning because we went to have lunch at the stained glass pub, which is a very nice place to eat in MD. We met my friend there and had a very nice lunch together. I totally enjoy our time she is a great lady! We had cornbeef sandwiches. She had an open-faced beef sandwhich with onion rings that looked fantastic!
When I came back, I took off all the red to tomatoes from my plants. There was a lot of them. It was a good thing because we were down to about 5 left. Gave a bag full to my MIL, who in turn gave them to his bro, who enjoyed them.
Tomorrow, I will prepare them for the shower for transport. We leave gettysburg tomorrow and head south towards home.
I got to lose some weight. I put on 6 lbs and have another dinner out to come. I better lose it cause we are going to TN in about 2 plus weeks.
But, those who know me well know I will do it. It’s just so hard when your other half stops for a day and loses all 5. He hardly gains weight! It’s not fair! And those who knew my 1st husband, he too, was always thin no matter how much he ate! What’s the expression? I’m a glutton for punishment!
We had left-over veal leg cutlets for dinner, and it was still delicious! We are trying to get the freezer down cause we want to stop at the fish place in GA. Fresh water fish from the water directly! Once you go and eat that, it’s hard to buy anything not wild caught. Especially the shrimp!
After dinner I did the computer and TV. Tried to talk with my son but couldn’t get thru? Maybe the rain storms.

Many of the towns are old, and the main street in town is lined with these homes they are old and go back in length, and many are added on to in their rear
Well, thanks once again for hanging in there with me. I am so honored, really. I loved seeing our friends and family it is such a wonderful feeling to share some time together. Many go back so many, many years!
