This morning, we woke to the capture of the guy in PA who they have been. chasng for 2 weeks. I got caught up in the whole thing for a while.
Then we finally got going and smoked salmon and eggs for breakfast with delicious coffee they provided us in the room.
In the afternoon, we decided to go to this place called the island. It has three areas, one dedicated to amusement rides. The tallest ferris wheel I have ever seen and some other wicked turning contraptions. Then there is a shopping area. It was clearly a place for tourists. I got a new flag for the front of my home. The one there is done. This one has a golden retriever, but it reminds me of our golden past love.
We stopped in the best, according to reviews, moon shine bar. We did the tasting. Or I should say I did the tasting. It was so much fun. Some burn the heck in your throat. But, others you can’t tell alcohol is even in there. I picked 2 of my favorites. Not cheap, $29.00 each! We had coupons and a 10%off, and we used all of it.
Then we walked around and decided to taste alcohol or hard cider. Don’t think I’ve ever tried it. It was interesting. I liked a couple of them. But, I think I will stick with bourbon as my favorite with gin a close second!
Traffic is horrible. I can’t imagine a weekend. Everything is fairly close along one major street. It’s nuts trying to go a few blocks.
We got back in time to have some matzoh ball soup. I heated that up, and we hurried thru it. We have tickets to motown Show.
We discovered a back street and made it a bit easier. But, the entire front of the theater had at least 6 buses. We got a parking spot and got inside. We thought we were old. But, these busses were nearly all bent over with canes and walkers. They walk very, very slowly.
We found our seats sort of middle towards the back. I was surprised by how many songs I remembered the words, too! It was fun. The sound wasn’t the best, and there were no brass or wind instruments.
We left a minute early, and all the buses were lined up. We walked ahead of them all, and we were able to get out.
We got back and had time to relax. I watched Hells Kitchen with Gorden Ramsey. I forgot how intense it is to watch.
