LAND PONTA DELGADA AZORES, PORTUGAL /7th day May 8th

Breakfast! Yes musli, it’s like creamy granola with cut fruit, apples, bananas , raisins yummo! Oh and smoked salmon, mini crossant and KADOTA. FIGS! I’m happy! BUT, I am drowning in tea with honey. My cough is better, but slight sore throat.

It seems all has gone ashore! We did not take a tour we have been here several times. There is a beautiful drive to the top of the volcano. The homes are all white, red tile roofs of years gone by and brown shutters. The gardens and farms are so pretty and well groomed in green squares of different colors.  The top of the volcano there are two lakes in the craters. One is blue and the other lake is green! Strange phenomenon ! THE CLOUDS WERE SO THICK THE TOURS DIDNT SEE IT.

We go ashore for a walk to town! We do not follow the crowd along the water way but rather go up the street and turn left. So very narrow two cars can nearly pass. You can not walk side by side. We stop at a corner to think which way, and a priest came up to help us!  We go left.  The shops are as big as maybe a bathroom. We were outside of this shop and a man came and told us to go in the cheese shop. The island is known for its cheese and local liquor in flavors. Where’s my son who loves cheese! Huge wheels everywhere, and the smell. The shop owner gave me a taste. It was like thick creamy cream cheese, so good.

We continued to walk and look at the little shops. Everyone had religious articles of all shapes and sizes. We finally came to the main square. Oh there are little restaurants everywhere. In the square by where the Main church is located, there are side walk cafes in the square. The locals are drinking coffee out of the tiniest cups… like maybe a 1/8 cup!

We went in the church it was beautiful and very old. Lots of mini crystal chandeliers. The front altar was so ornate with white and gold. Huge sculptures of Christ. One even lite up on the ceiling! I prayed for all family and friends to be healthy and happy! Maybe God will not mind a Jew is praying in a Catholic Church!

We continued to walk around, I didn’t take my camera but I assure you many pictures are to come. I took some from the balcony and will try to share!

we had dinner in Grande the formal restaurant and shared with a bunch of Floridians! We had a great time speaking with them. Hope we meet up again.

We then went to a virtual concert a band 15 guys musicians and singers from Las Vegas . The ship turned huge windows across the back into a staged concert! You have to be there to experience but it is like being at the real concert. Pretty awesome!
