up early breakfast in American Grill. They have a buffet and order menu so it’s nice.
We are on a tour to handicrafts and wine. So you know why we joined. We drove a good bit. The city seems crowded with either crowded rundown homes or high rise apts. When you leave the land it israther dry but they grow an abundance of oranges and lemons, avocados, watermelons and olives. Irrigation is essential. There is a salt water lake that appears to be quite large and is used for vacations and health.
We stopped at a pottery store. Yes that was the handicrafts, no one was making them, there were multiple Spanish patterns but all pottery. I looked around it was a massive place but nothing struck me. Unusual yes, but I didn’t want anything.
Then we went to a marina on the Mediterranean. The water was so pretty near Aqua blue. There were homes along the sea. Then there were restaurants with outdoor seating on the sea. We were not hungry as we had breakfast. We enjoyed the walk around the area. Men with fishing boats were repairing huge nets with cord and floats. Others were fishing.
We got back on the bus and went to a local winery owned by the same family for many years. They do most of the business with minimal equipment and the rest by hand. For example, they make sparkling wine and it takes 8 men 5 hours to complete 700 bottles. They produce 7000 a year of sparkling wine. Rather remarkable the land was enormous. We got a bottle of a port like wine.
We had dinner in the Grande and met a couple we had eaten with before and had a fun dinner. We then saw the show a musical different is the best way to describe it. I took pictures and will try to add later. Tomorrow land again!
