Singapore June 12 and 15 days 42 and 45

The first day we did not bring the IPad for pictures. I took the camera. We hired a private guide, Anna, she was so good.  We went to the Botanical Orchard Garden.  Spectacular describes it. The amount of orchids and colors were amazing, the pink, purple, dotted, stripes, spider webs, yellow, white, it seemed every color was there and displayed so beautifully. I am so glad we went to see it.  Anna, pointed out little details and stories which made it even more interesting. Like they have VIP orchids for people like Diana from England , Laura Bush, and others. They ship all over the world, no wonder.

We went to Raffles Hotel where the Singapore sling was invented at the Long Bar. It is very dark, very long, has spiral staircase, peanuts where the clientele throw the shells on the floor. The Singapore sling drink was $55.00 really!  Didn’t go there! The hotel is huge, suites only, and only guests go inside. it is $666.00 a nite for the cheapest room! it is a huge white structure has a British influence, think Bahamas!

We then went  to little India.  the silk Sari fabrics are sold everywhere and one is more elaborate then the next just gorgeous silks. I wanted one but honestly what would I do with it.  There was so much of it it seemed overwhelming. We stopped and had some bread with a sauce like roti bread it was excellent.

Then we went to Malaysian area. It seemed similar, nicer there were homes that were restored to shops that were very pretty on the outside and different colors, blue, pink white. They are very small. We tried to get some sweets but they were sold out.

I had my camera so I’ll share pictures when we get back.
