August 8 Mt pleasant Michigan

Today is special for my son in Florida. He is 34 and has had 3 kidney transplants. Today 26 years ago was his first from his dad, who is now deceased. He was 8 years old. It’s alarming even to write this down. So I called him to wish him a good day.

We decided to do Laundry. Since  this is a new campground the facility has not been set up yet.  However, from here we are going to a rally in the fair grounds in Indiana. There is no laundry there.  After that we head home!  Seems so close!

We went to this facility which had multiple washing machines to choose from depending on weight, dirtyness, grease pretty crazy!  Then the dryers too had choices!  There were TVs, computers, wifi, vending machines. This is a laundromat??  Not in my day!

In fact, I lived in Brooklyn, NY.  Nearby there was a Chinese laundry.  You gave them the bag and at the end of the day for hardly any money it was washed pressed and folded! That was another life ago!

We decided to go to the special meat market.  The ride there down this street was crazy! There is a college Western Michigan University with 25,000 students near by.  We passed in not a very long distance every fast food change you can think of including, McD, Wendy, panera, cadoba, red lobster, panera, just to name a few. There was every ethnic food available.  Then the big stores kohls, aldi, Walmart, Kmart, menards( like Home Depot) SAMs, target  all in one area!  You turn off the street aside from the lined up 2 story apt building for students that reminded me of army barracks. It turned into local small houses and farms that go on forever!

We ended up at this organic no everything, chemicals, non gmo, certified this and that the absolute pure stuff!  Talk about expensive!  A small baby chicken was $24.00 steak prime cut was $42.00.  This is over my head. But, I had to have something so we got hambergers 4 for $9.00 and hot dogs for &$6.00 chicken breasts for $8.00 my bill came to $36.00.  There was only cuts of pork, beef and chicken.  The meat looked different than the grocery store.  It was so dark red.  They had awesome cuts of meat and chickens and pork. We do not have anything like this near us at home. Funny, the girl behind the counter found that so surprising to hear.  Imagine how healthy we would be eating this stuff all the time!

It is amazing to me that when ever we pass some machine, doesn’t matter if it’s in use, by the road, or traveling on a truck on the Hywy,  El knows what it is and what it is used for! To me it’s called machine! I swear he was a farmer in another life!

We were getting use to the streets and how they run.  It’s similar to NYC.  Some go up and down like North and south and the others go the other way east and west. No diagonals or circles.

For dinner we grilled pork loin. Then we took ghost for a walk no stormy!  The place is half empty. I like it because you can see farther.  But ghost still gets attention. It’s novel to walk a cat! It’s glamping remember!
