I wake up and El is dressed almost out the door! Wait where are you going? They serve breakfast until 9am and its 8:30! Why didn’t you wake me earlier? So I say wait! imagine me up and out in 15 mins? Me either but I did it!..minus Jewelry! Naked ya know what I mean?
Breakfast really? Eggs in a circle I didn’t know it was an egg..that explains it.Then French toast in the tiniest rectangle so I took 2. Then a bowl of blueberries yeah. Reg yoplait yogurt..funny how when you start eating Greek yogurt reg is blah! Okay coffee.
We came back to the RV and hung out for a while. But then El wanted to go to a cast iron cook lecture! I’m up for that. So we walked to the barn where it was held. We were early and got in front. The flies 100s of them all over yuck! The chef is trying to kill them off before he begins!
It turned out very interesting! He cooked in a round cast iron Dutch oven with 3 little legs. It has a cover with a lip going up all around but a tight fit. Then he placed lit charcoals underneath the bottom of the oven. He prepared these cakes with no regard for true measurement. In a tin round pan maybe an inch high. He placed a cooling rack inside. Put the cake mixed in the pan then into oven, put on the cover, placed charcoals on the top, and then put coals underneath the Dutch oven.
We tasted the outcome! Apple crumble, pineapple upside cake, cheese biscuits. They were very good and cooked quickly! It was so fun! So we got a ride back to our RV.
We had happy hour ah Chardonnay! Then we had our dinner veggie burgers, YUMMO we like this stuff, black bean burgers, Thai burgers…they come in serveral varieties!
We relax and watch the olympics. I forgot during the day we went thru the vendors and bought light aluminum steps. They are steadier and with my back I am always worried of falling. I am on borrowed time!
We also went in some RVs again. I do like the new Sanibel with the kitchen in the back. But it requires another truck so I have to refrain. I also luv the new RiverStone. It’s a wow! But it’s 2 ft longer but it has a wine rack AND a wine refrigerator, dish washer, washing machine and dryer….it’s only $90,000. That’s an issue!
