We get up and have our own breakfast. I am not sleeping well cause I am worried about my kids. Life is like that you are there for them not matter what.but when they don’t respond you worry. Well this can go on to another blog so I will stop here.
We decide today we will take a ride to our favorite butcher. Johns butcher shop in Nappanee, Indiana.
The ride was interesting even though it was 25 minutes away. We past homes that were old but huge and magnificent! They were next to each other but completely different. I tried to get some pics. There were all sorts of trackers and farm equipment…El knows them all what they are for etc…he was a farmer before must be!
Then the farms of corn are so crazy they go one forever, and the barns are huge and amazing. it is hard to get a pic because they are so far from the road. Then there is the grain silos some to huge to comprehend and others too numerous to count!
We get to the butcher and he has doubled in size! So besides having the little counter with the wall of keys and the butcher room with all the saws and cutter knives, and metal meat lockers and hangers in the back for the cows, he required the store next to him. Now there is double the meat showcase, there is a wall of freezers and and several small rows of Amish groceries.
But the meat…the color alone is different. The steaks, and burger meat, and pork chop all are red for the beef and white for the chicken and pinkish for the pork. Amazing how natural meat with no crap appears! So I bought and bought some more and some more until it was at least a freezer and about $200.00.
Did I get it into our huge residential refrigerator….you bet your butt I did! Can you find anything or take anything out absolutely not! So El says we can plug the RV into where we store it. This way I can have 2 freezers and start using up what’s at home and then transfer it! Pretty smart eh?
On the way to the butcher the sky got really dark, lighting bolts where coming down, you can see,the rain coming from the clouds. Then we figured we are going to Kansas with Toto! It looked like a funnel cloud was forming, crap are we really in the tornado area egads! But we only had a short downpour and when we came out it was done!
After I did an amazing job unpacking and stuffing the freezer we realized there is an ice cream sundaes to be had and I had a strawberry sundae.yummo. On the walk back, we of course stopped at the barn and a man was putting on a shoe for the horse. I never saw that before! It was interesting. Had no camera!
Well relax dinner in the RV and no entertainment.
We had a shrimp egg roll black bean burger and salad and of course some wine to smooth it down!
Tomorrow is the last day and I am ready to move on!
Here’s some pics
