Drive, stop, sleep drive drive stop, sleep drive…throw a veggie burger in and a bottle of wine you get the idea. Oh and yogurt too!

I realize the only black person I’ve seen in weeks were two ladies who join our bus tour at NASA. In fact I haven’t seen or heard any other ethnic  person other than white American in weeks. In fact we took a pit stop and a man was talking loudly to his son in southern twang! I didn’t understand it. El looked at me huh? We heard this once before in  the area of Dollywood TN. Crazy! You can’t describe it!

The scenery changes from hills to trees to forest for a while. The homes are such cute little boxes.

But, I had a bad nite, the TV was on and first I learned about the earthquake in Italy in some little town north of Rome. If you’ve been, you know it’s connected homes 2 or 3 stories, all narrow steps with small people along narrow cobblestone streets. Probably with pasta noodles hanging on a rack! Sad.

Then I wake and hear Spokane is burning along with the Grand Tetons in Washington State. Of course, one son is in WA., the last I heard was south of Seattle. He could be in the forest God forbid!

Then we are headed home and will be there sometime Thursday! Yeah! What do I hear, oh just that one storm is turning into a hurricane will miss us, BUT, another is developing and will probably hit Florida just in time for us to get home! Talk about welcome home!

We take a pit stop south of GA. Okay so I go to open the door, a black man runs to the door to open it for me? Really?  Then I want coffee, as I step to the counter to get milk a black moves out of the way for me instead of finishing what he was doing and he hands me a stirrer! Really?  Then I go to pay, I can’t find my key and I am taking to long! A black man leaves  something on the counter to my side and I am in his way …he says sorry mam. I go to leave and the lady says safe travels y’all…I luv the y’all.  They got it in the south! I can listen to the southern drawl all day! MANNERS AND RESPECT is that what it is like?..bring it back on!

On our way thru GA we realize on a rest stop that GA. Is know for peaches, pecans, peanuts,  and cotton. Oh and onions vadalia  sweet. We go into the rest stop info area and get a map and info on the state..confirmed what we thought. But forgot watermelon too!

We scan the info and we finder that a major co. Processing pecans are on our way! OMG! Ever walk in a place and become overwhelmed with choices! Each one more delicious than the next choice. And samples everywhere!  Okay pecans, oh and there are more than a 1/2 dozen types to try! Imagine then they are flavored, roasted, covered in spices, chocolates, pralines…it was insane! I tried controlled myself  ha that didn’t work! While I tasted the chocolates..white, dark, ameretto, grand marnier, and others I allowed myself to buy one chocolate.  Oh and much more like about $150.00 worth, minus a “peck” of peaches and a bag of vadalia onions. Such a fun stop.

Additionally, we saw fields of cotton, just about to bloom, low fields of peanuts and tall fields of big trees of pecans that haven’t been harvested, they say October is when they harvest.

Okay, so I’m not a very religious person. however, in the south, I find that Baptist churches rule the road. They seem to be in every town, most have multiple ones. Now we are seeing billboards on the Hywy regarding Jesus! Really? Not over board?

We pull up at our last stop before home. mixed feelings emerge. So glad to be going home, yet I luv our summer camping. But, the life at home is where your friends are and that’s such a comfort.  Don’t know how full timers do it…but never say never right?

Then the thought of packing all this “stuff” to use my sons expression. Ugh! But it got here and it must go back. Then the cleaning and laundry! Ugh!  But..one day at a time and it will all get done. That’s my motto!

Oh but my anniversary Sept 1, yep 9 years!  Oh stop laughing you 40 plus years and more..bless you!

Oh then my BD Sept 11…..I know I saw a wrinkle creep up on my neck and oh another cows foot on the left!   Age ?? Ok 66 yep I’m creeping to the 70!  I figure during the 60s your old, 70s older, 80s oldest 90s and above it doesn’t matter and God Bless ya! Els mom is 90 this year! A friends mom is 90 and above and they are amazing, my idols.

Oh and let’s not forget my next trip which leaves Sept 11 or 12 I will check tomorrow! Anyhow, it’s this travel group PORT. Port Orange Recreation Group.  They organize trips and concerts with lunch within  a 1-3 hour bus ride from Port Orange and everything is amazingly in order. You show up and enjoy! They are not on line or the Internet!  They operate by phone and letters! They say you must be 55 but it’s more like 65 and way above. I luv these folks they are in their 70,80,90s they are energetic, dress up, are so nice luv it.  If your interested contact me! Seriously so worth it!

Ah, nice campground with space between, even a fence piece for privacy outstanding, a garbage can awesome, a stream  with ducks, not quite the tortoise, bal pithyon snake, parrots, crocodile of the last place we stopped!  But this is level and peaceful. I could stay here for several days!

Open my gwerztaminer wine from Dr Franks, ah thinking of my college Roomate who went to the winery in NY with us…..still a great lady…luv her hubby too!

Time to relax its dinner time, but I’m washing down my pecans! Tired long day

I will add some pics thanks for coming along!
