After breakfast we board the bus for our route to Jackson hole wy. We are passing thru the grand Tetons. We traveled south thru the rest of Yellowstone. On the way out a Group of Bison block the road, halarious!
We traveled along and immediately enter the Teton MTns. My first observation was autumn! Wow, how you miss it in Florida. The trees were turning gold and some orange so very pretty.
Then think Cowboys and Indians the back drop in every TV show or movie. The rolling tundra and MTns. These MTns are huge and almost look like a painting rather than being real. They are extremely tall, jagged tops and go on forever.
We finally got to Jackson hole and was dropped off at the Teton Village. There is an Ariel tram that goes straight up the Mtn to 10,300 about ft. Your up there adjacent to the MTns. Hard to believe people ski this stuff! In my best day I couldn’t do these MTns. The trails are straight down.
We came back down and decided to have a beer at the Mangy Moose Saloon. Ever hear of Fat Pig Porter beer..yummo! It’s a dark beer my favorite. Anyhow, this bar had a moose with a sleigh hanging from the ceiling! Yep don’t know how they did it. Our waitress, 31 was living with 2 other folks in a Small 2 bedroom house, she was living in the garage as her bedroom, and for rent they paying $3000.00 /mo! I saw a local paper a home smaller than mine $1 mil.yep not a place for the poor!
We went to dinner at the Gun Barrel and steak house, a huge stuffed bison at the door. I am sorry I didn’t have my cameras I left them charging in the room. Every animal was stuffed and represented like moose, ram, goat, elk, water buffalo and it goes on! Awesome all wood. A tourist place too! We had trout stuffed with crab, pretty good. Oh, we learned that “open house” soup means soup of the day!
Well tired again after a full day
Will share some pics
