Think of this I am in SD. Before today I would say what’s a SD? Or where is that? Under the north one?..so have breakfast and board the bus. A school Bus with a funny commentor. All about Wild Bill Hikok and Calaminity Jane. I learned more than I ever knew. We went to the Mt Moriaty cemetery where they are buried.
Then we walked around the town. We realized that you can gamble, eat, and drink just about anywhere. If you want you can buy all sorts of tourist gizmos..belts, boots, hats, tee shirts. Indian type jewelry, and pottery.
We did go to saloon no.10 for a beer and to watch the shooting skit of wild Bill Hickok. It was interesting. The saloon was awesome, had pictures and memorabilia all over, the ceiling was tin plates, old stuff clothes, slot machine, barber chair, fun stuff.
We went back to the bus to go to a chuck wagon dinner and show. There was a little town where we saw a man make a tin plate for me! The equipment was ancient. Dinner we had beans, BBQ beef, apple sauce, potato biscuit and cake, served on tin plates and cups. It was good. We sat in long benches and tables. The band especially this young kid 23 could play the guitar like crazy. He alone was fantastic. There was a fiddler in his 80s and he had that down and two others who were excellent as well.
A fun exhausting day.
