Monday Dec 26, day 22 USHAIA, Argentina as far south in South America you can go!

Yeah! I am feeling better not 100% but on the mend! Thanks for caring. Burr it’s soo cold it’s not funny and it’s summer. It’s high in the 40s. The MTns are scary jagged high with snow. There is a town however.

We had coffee and our waitress is from Ukraine. She loves this her sister sent a picture snow all over and it is minus 50 degrees!  Minus!  I can’t comprehend it.

We went on a tour, not the description which told you to dress warm a wildlife cruise. We walked to the boat totally enclosed with Heat! Everyone is dressed in layers up the wazoo!

Then we go to three islands one had black birds that look like flying penguins. Then to an island with some seals. Then to a light house. Then a drive back at least 45 mins of being thrown thru  a rocky car wash ride.  Folks were getting sick! The walk back to the ship was rediculous the wind was so strong I almost lost my glasses, I had to literally hang onto my husband.

However, why stop here?  It is the gateway to Antarctica with the high and mighty and not so high cruise ships. Regent and seabourn were in port! They are smaller and can go in closer. But, at what price? If you have to ask you can’t go!

So now I’ve been close to the anartica in the south with its penguins and seals, and I have been north to the arctic saw the bottom of the North Pole! Well yes they are both cold. But, the north has the polar bears and if you ever saw a mom and her baby climb on top of her stomache and nurse…they had me at argH or roar no that’s a lion.

I’m feeling a little stronger which is good! Hope you are all well and smiling over a good holiday. I can’t wait to see all the pics and stories. I luv them.

We decided to go to dinner. German all of its krauts, roast pig head on, tortes, pretzels it was really fun. There was an ice sculpture of a beer and mug.

We then went to a show at a bar which was pretty fun.

An announcement came we can’t leave the port because the wind is so strong it is pushing the ship into the port with such force we can’t leave!  I would not make this one up!
