We got off the plane and found our suitcases. We got thru customs rather quickly. We even found our pick up man holding a sign for me! So far so good! Then we find he is our chauffeur with a limousine just for us..really? It was amazing. He was so nice, The hotel is so pretty and fancy.
Then we went for a walk. We decided to go to the Queen Victoria building. It is an entire city block all around and 4 stories inside. It is from the 1800s and has been restored. It was a market and now has high end shops. Most had gowns and jewelry and suits for men…oh and an uggs store! $180 was the cheapest I saw.
The place also has fancy eateries of all kinds of pastries, and sandwiches, teas.
The sense of the old architecture inside is ever present and is spectacular. There is stain glass windows, a gorgeous rotunda, the floors are beautiful tiles, the clocks are spectacular. We are glad we stopped by.
We walk back to the hotel and stop in like a seven eleven to buy some water. We are both pretty tired and need to rest. My husband took a shower and now it’s my turn. I love the accent here. It is not British English.
Oh and they drive on the right side of the car. Then when you turn it’s unsettling when the car goes in what seems to be the wrong lane!
Oh and the street corners have a button which provides a beep when to stop and it changes sound when to walk and then stop. Not a bad idea!
