It’s pretty outside! I get up and get ready for the day. But of course we have smoked salmon and bagels for breakfast yummo!
We get ready and decide to take a ride to Bangor. The trees are so pretty it’s like Christmas tree land. There are pine trees huge ones everywhere. The water on the way out was foggy so much so you’d think there was a fire.
The homes here, some are tiny boxes. Others are boxes that are built on several times. The roads are crazy they either go straight up the mtn or they go down to the water and are not paved. Either way what do they do when it snows? The thought is just crazy!
There are many lobster stores selling steamed or rolls or smoked versions along the main road. We stopped and got stuffed clams for dinner. We are trying different fish or seafood everyday. It’s so fun.
We ended up at a huge Mardens. It’s a huge junk store but it has like left overs of brand names for really cheap prices. It’s pretty crazy. You go thru and shake your head. You can’t buy it all. But it could get crazy. I spent $100.00. And I don’t know what I bought. But, I know it was cheap!
We drove back and realized Cadillac mtn is not near us it’s quite a ways on a different point. But, when we drive we get a glimpse of it.
We came back and brought the packages in, but the door wasn’t shut! Yup, the white cat got out the door. Heart panic sets in! But he was under the trailer and eventually we convinced him to come to the steps. God that is really heart stomping stuff!
It was late and we had dinner. The stuffed clams, turkey burgers and broccoli. But, for bread on the way back we followed signs to a farm selling organic foods. It turns out it’s an honor system. You pick what you want and leave the money in a jar. I would not believe such thing exists but my friend in VT introduced me to the same thing there. We ended up getting fresh bread and organic bacon. There wasn’t much left. Such things make you feel good.
It was 82 when we went to Bangor, with no humidity it is so delightful! On the way back the temp first dropped to 72 then at the campsite it was 64! It’s cold in July! The news informs people to be weary about the water as it is cold. Really.?
