May 29 ..11 days..gettysburg

I wake up the same time and I exercise, get dressed and while I am getting ready the RV man who empties your sewer and water drained our tanks. A necessary evil.  We took showers the night or day before.

I had fruit and cottage cheese for breakfast.  I thought it would rain but the sun was out and it was humid, almost like Florida!  El decided we should go to the outlets.  We really wanted to go to the kitchen outlet.  So we drove over it is not far. The road is pretty it passes these nice houses but with huge amounts of land.

We drove thru The Outside mall, and while there were cars,  it was not clear what was really open. We decided to drive thru again.  We didn’t see a lot open so we parked and decided to walk around.  It was so strange since the stores we use to go to were not only closed they were gone!  Crazy!  Stores like kitchen collection, Dress barn, Harry and David, Gymboree, zales.  The other stores we go into were not open.  It was a very strange feeling to walk thru and see the shops shut down.   A first for me to go to an outlet and buy NOTHING!

We drove back discouraged.  El had lunch but I am gaining weight so I didn’t eat!  Life is not fare!  But, I got to loose this weight we may go cruising at the end of the summer.  Maybe we will see!

I just sat down and started looking at my recipes.  I have a huge bag that contains recipes I took out of magazines over the years.  I enjoy reading recipes. It’s okay if it’s considered weird. I enjoy cooking. For tonite I picked a salmon recipe that had maple syrup, lemon and ponzu, but it combined asparagus with spinach and a balsamic sauce.  Yummo!

When we sat down for dinner the thunderstorms the weatherman promised started in.  There was tons of rain and loud thunder but it didn’t last for a long time. By the time we were done eating the storm had moved on.

I am watching TV.   Some game show this lady is winning over a million.  Pretty cool!

Well I’m done. Tomorrow is another day.  I’m tired of being here. We don’t leave until Tuesday.  So 3 more days.

Havent heard from my boys, what is the expression…no news is good news? 🙏

    Yes, I too save those recipes from magazines and newspapers. I had a two-inch thick pile of them and just recently, during my cleaning frenzy, threw a lot of them out — thinking “this will never happen.” Unlike you, cooking to me is something that needs to be done — not a fun adventure. But I do like reading about the meals you prepare.

    It’s sad to learn about those store closings. So many are cutting back and/or going through bankruptcy. Guess we order too much on line; and brick and mortar stores must hire lots of salespeople, have a display area, have a lot in stock, pay for taxes and cleaning, etc. On-line stores get by without a lot of these things. I feel bad that the stores are closing and really like shopping and feeling and trying on things.
