I figure I better write the first few days before today starts cause you never know what’s going to happen on Friday the 13th!
We left on the 11th. But the day before and the last week was crazy! You know the check lists and how you forgot to add something? At least we went back for it. But I had arm surgery on the May 9. Panic unusual cells. Still don’t know the results! Luckily I told the Dr I’m leaving town so she put disappearing stitches and glue! I look like I’ve been stabbed with a huge knife. It’s gross to look at my arm. oh and my husband had an eco gram the day before we left.
Then the truck had to have stuff done. Then the RV had to have things done. Really just before we leave? And when we are leaving we had to go back to the tire place cause the new tire was leaking!
Ah May 11 we finally get to leave with our Sani (short for sanibel the name of our RV). is happy to move again. I think we are staying put for longer times. A half Tank of diesel gas was $82.00 yikes!
We drive along 95N. Thru Florida and thru Georgia and arrive in our campground in South Carolina. The spot is fine, however we are surrounded by many glamping buses and RVs. Oh, but don’t worry we fit right in! Our Sani is 40 feet with a home size refrigerator, TV, desk, fireplace, oven, microwave. Oh yes this is glamping ( translated it’s glamorous camping!😁).
We do our routine setting up but it takes a little longer because it’s day one and you have to remember where you put everything a year ago, at my age that’s not so easy! It is slow going but we get it done.
We meet the family in back of us they been traveling for the year! There have three kids and they are home schooled. I remember that last year we ran into families doing that. Many here are full timers!
The next morning, on May 12th, we decide we need to go to Walmart to get the things we forgot and to add to are veggies. The ride is interesting because you are passing all the low land swamps. They are pretty and filled quite high you can see tips of grass. check the third photo. It started raining.

On the way to Walmart you pass this huge marine corpair station base with all these planes out front on display. See picture two. we heard the planes while in Walmart.
When all was done and we came back it was dinner time. So I went to work and made veal parmagean with pasta and fresh green beans and my own red sauce! Yummo! By the time we sat down to eat it was nearly 7:30pm! But I had to relearn what cooking gizmo I could use with what! You can only use two at a time between the convection oven, or induction cooker, or microwave.
But, check out the first photo for dinner. I will get better at adding them to the blog. I had to transfer from the phone to an email to google pictures and then add them here. Let me tell you for me that was huge! I’m so not techy!
Well I hope you enjoyed my first blog of the summer! They tell me the numbers who read this but not who. So please leave a comment if you wish. This is my travel diary so I hope you enjoy something to read if you are bored! Ha Thanks for coming along!
