May 18, 2022, Thursday Gettysburg PA

It is good to be back in Gettysburg, we come every year I can remember camping. The man who use to be in charge is now the company manager and they have many campgrounds. Good for him.

After breakfast I wore shorts it’s suppose to be warm. We decide to go to Giant the food market. It’s not the same Giant as in say Maryland. It’s more upscale like Whole Foods.

The food was expensive a package of asparagus was $3.99. I have been paying $1.99. But other stuff was also high. They did have smoked whitefish. I am in heaven we can’t get it in Fl. The store was freezing and forget the freezer area insanely freezing.

On the way to the store we pass thru Gettysburg. Our favorite places are still there. Dobin House and farnesworth are old inns with great food. The Tommy’s pizza and Bella and Italian restaurant with great pizza is still there.

There was a traffic issue to one lane so it took a bit to get by. There are plenty of groups of young kids and bus tours. It is not even Memorial Day! Then you can’t even walk it gets so crowded even in the campground.

I will try to attach some pictures! The next two pictures are typical homes on the Main streets in Gettysburg.

The above photo is a pub in the center traffic circle. The old inns and restaurants are just so colonial and interesting.

I tried to get a picture of the war battlefield fencing. It is not cooperating so I will try again. It is not the last day here.

We came back put the groceries away. All of a sudden it was dinner time. I made red snapper with a tomato, capers and garlic sauce, yummo!

I went thru my emails and such. It is amazing the amount of time to do this. How did we live without this stuff!

Well it’s late and I’m tired. I’m worried about my hip. When I tried to get up the stairs in the RV I struggled to push up on my leg to get in! the pain in my hip is bad. I hope it gets better. I’m doing my exercises!

Well thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your summer!
