6/1 & 2/2022. Hersey, PA

It’s funny how we have been here so many times it’s become comfortable. We know where everything is located here.

We did our morning chores and just had to get out to visit our most favorite grocery store in the country. Its the country store. Their prices are ridiculously cheap. We have to control ourselves. Nearly everything is under a dollar in their discount aisle. But, it’s all named brands. Sometimes the box is bent, or the can is dented but for the price it’s worth it.

It is run by the Amish and they are all so cute. I got a picture

The girls where the long dress and cap on their head.

I also love the farms they seem to be all so huge with lots of land.

I also love the way you can see far into the mountain vistas.

I started to work on my veggie group for my recipe book. Wow! I didn’t realize there were so many recipes for different veggies that exist! Nor how many different ways to cook them. The biggest group? What do you think?

It’s between green beans, sweet potato, cauliflower, and beets! It’ll take a while to get it all set up. It is extremely hot outside. It is hotter than Florida! They promise terrible thunder storms. But we didn’t get any.

June 2nd. We have breakfast and decide to go to the close hardware store because I bought a grape tomato plant and a pepper plant. They come with tiny plastic pots. I needed soil and a larger pot. We drove over to the store. Now, tell me how many hardware stores do you know of that sell baby chicks?

Bucket of baby chicks for sale $3.50 each!

What do you do with a baby chick? Well I got my pot and soil. Came back to the campground and proceeded to switch the plants to bigger pots with more soil. They were very happy! We even took ghost our white cat, out on the table to watch. He loves being outside.

We had a drink, some kind of mule drink! It is made with bourbon and ginger beer! Yummo! I made some concoction for dinner with cauliflower, chickpeas, corn, tomatoes with a curry sauce. It was good.

Well I’m watching TV and going through a huge amount of recipes. Some are 10 years old! That’s sounds kinda sick! Even to me! I must be nuts.

Anyhow, I’m going to try and do a blog everyday. But it gets harder when you have been everywhere before many times. The gas prices are not helping either for the truck are running $5.50 -$5.99 per gallon!

The back of our site is a large hill with grass. The other night there must have been a parade of ducks at least 25 including a bunch of babies. They were right out our back window!

I will try and get a bigger bunch!

Well the storms are now predicted for tonite! We shall see! Thanks for stopping by. It is so amazing to me I have a following and over 150 readers. Crazy right?

Enjoy your summer it is almost officially here!

  1. Hi Andrea, I am loving your blogs and look forward to them everyday! I also was shocked here in Georgia when I saw baby chicks in the hardware stores. Apparently, people buy them to raise them for eggs here! Anyway, enjoy yourselves and keep writing 😊
