We only had fruit for breakfast. We are going to have lunch with his mom and one bro the other is traveling from FL on the auto train.
We know it’s near a major holiday but we want to see them. The traffic was a lot, but i am coming from FL, but i guess it is OK for MD. We didn’t come to a full stop.
Wow, has the area around Rockville changed. I’ve been gone too long. There are high risers everywhere. I didn’t have a clue where I was. He even missed a turn. We finally get there and parked at the handicap spot. The desk man comes running out to tell us we can’t park there, the truck sticks out. It hasn’t been an issue before but we had to park in the back where the workers park. We did, but it still sticks out!
Well mom, who is 97, God bless her, went to Parkway grubs ave deli. A real Jewish type Deli. She bought pastrami and corn beef with some cheese and rye bread. We made sandwiches in the kitchen. Then we collected everything and went upstairs to the garden and BBQ outside. It is truly a beautiful area on top of the building.
We enjoyed our sandwiches and had catching up talks. It was so nice. The sandwiches were yummo! Well, it’s time to leave. Mom gave us the leftover meat, and she made sauerkrat soup. It doesn’t sound great, but it is yummo!
The drive home was awful the traffic, stop and go until we were above Fredrick, MD. We got home and just relaxed for a while. It was so good to see mom and his bro.
We got a bit hungry not for a meal but something. We had some samosas and wonton and cooked them, and it hit the spot! We also had the blueberry cake mom gave us that she made, which was very good.
Well, i’m done for the day. One more visit tomorrow.
