7/22/23 from Ohio to WAKARUSA INDIANA

Say that name 10x! We are at Dr Paul’s RV. I woke at 6 am. I don’t think I did that when I was young and working! But I can’t remember! The ride was pretty. It wasn’t so much mountains it was corn and wheat fields going till you can’t see the end! Where are your neighbors.?

Yummo corn forever!

We stopped for gas and had an accident. SANI scrapped the edge bumper of a new truck. We weren’t going anywhere. We had to wait till the guy could get his boss. We finally got gas and went on our way we got a dent. But, just the experience is upsetting even not much was damaged.

We get to the place and park outside. They are going to hook up us for the night. Sleeping in a parking lot of the mechanic. Okay then! Several men get to work on all the issues. Poor Ghost freaked out when he heard them all on the roof to fix the a/c. He opened the cabinet under the sink and crawled in. POOR KITTY.

When they were gone and said they were done but we are to stay over the weekend so they can be sure it’s fixed! Oh, but of Course we will stay!

When everything settled and it was quiet, we ran to the Amish stores. I must get the pictures from the camera on the phone. The Amish are so cute to watch, like a TV show. The way they dress with their plain cotton dresses and hair in a cap. The boys are so adorable in their suspenders and hats.

If I can figure out how to access my phone photos, I will share them! I’m not happy. There has got to be a way, and I am not techy.

Then there’s the horse-drawn cabs. Some hold 2, others 4, some have a top, and some don’t, and 1 have a windshield! Then driving behind them is tricky. These are mostly 2 lane roads, and you have to judge when to pass them. Once we got stuck with one coming and one in front. Ya have to have a sense of humor.

We went to two places which were the same store called FORKS. They are similar to a local supermarket, but they are run by Amish people. Some of the prices are crazy. For example, we got three packages of sliced Canadian bacon for $1.00. We got marinated pork tenderloins for $1.00 lb. Crazy right? So we didn’t go crazy like in PA. That country store has an aisle discount to die for!

We passed a famous Amish store, theater and restaurant and it was crowded. We will go at some point.

We got back, and the parking lot was nearly empty. It’s okay.

I’m exhausted, so for dinner, I made hot dogs, but I added the leftover veggie chili. Then I roasted some Brussel sprouts, and they turned out better than I thought. Of course, the Guinness before helped with the wine after!

I passed out. Oh I found a suduko book in the fork store. I did the first puzzle, and it was too easy. Maybe it’s starts easy and gets harder the more you do? Hopefully.

Thank you for stopping by this day. It was pretty crazy and all. Hope this gave you a smile. Careful of the heat, drink alot, I mean, water!

  1. Sorry you needed repair work. Ghost was pretty smart to open that cupboard and crawl in! Agree it’s fun to see the Amish traveling. We saw many in Indiana but we never found a place with prices like that.
