7/25 & 26/23 Elkhart to Columbia, Indiana

There is not much to tell because both days were mainly on the road.

That’s not totally true. Early in the morning, 6am we are up and getting ready because the workers start early. They showed up and tried some stuff on the a/c to correct what he observed during the weekend. The mechanic called an expert A/C man. He came by and spoke with my husband. Bottom line, he couldn’t fix it. He recommended we need to get a new A /C. We went to another place which deals with only A/C and refrgerators. He looked tried to fix it and finally said we need a new one. OK so he puts another grate in the ceiling to allow for additional air. Then he installed a new a/C. It produced amazing cool air! Aaaah!

I dont remember the time but we went to a nearby campground for the night. We set up and went to Martins, a grocery store that sells liquors. The store was reorganized, so it took a while to figure out where they put stuff. The wines, a huge selection, were normal priced. But, we were used to getting deals. The liquor was fair but not cheap. However, I did get some gin, rum, and of course bourbon!

We went back to the RV, and he dumped the toilet. It’s gross, but it’s got to be done. I didn’t take anything out for dinner. Left overs? Nay! We decided to eat out. We haven’t done that in a while. We went to Callahans thinking it was Greek but was American. However, I found a gyro on the menu and got it. I ordered wine, pinot noir, and it was awful. I should know enough to ask the brand, what do you expect for $5.00! I should have gotten a Heineken same price! But, the gyro was great and huge! I ate half.

We came back, and I was exhausted. I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I went to bed by 8:00! Tried to read and had no idea what I read.

That was yesterday!

This morning I got up at 7:00 better! Another travel day. We were on the road by 10:40, and we were pretty late for us. The ride was longish, and we ran into waves of rain and wind. It was horrible, and luckily, we made it thru, but it was tense for a while. Especially with an RV and the wind.

We stopped for gas it’s not cheap, even with a discount. A tank of diesel is $79.00. Such is life on the road.

I did get a couple of pictures:

The first are a couple of horses. But, it’s an example. There are horses at almost every house. At the A/c place, the field had Clydesdales, one huge and a baby. But, there were 2 blacks and 2 browns there too!

Second, I finally got an Amish carriage with horses. I’m still figuring out how to get the phone pictures in. I’m not giving up!

Third, fields of hay or wheat that go on forever. They are amazing. They have corn fields like that, too!

The last thing I had to add is this is a typical small house we see a lot. Some have a garage. Even a barn. And a horse. But, crazy how they live in a tiny house. But, they don’t know the difference.

We finally got to the campsite. Oh, I do remember it now that I am here. I made salad for dinner and added a few leftovers. But, we bought HUGE corn on the cob. I usually cook them for 4 mins. They needed an additional 3 mins. Yummo! A little butter and salt I’m in food heaven!

I spoke with my son and he finally took a diabetes pill. Please pray they work for him. Thank you from him and me.

Well that’s it for 2 days. Thanks so much I so appreciate your visit. I hope I provided a smile. Take care in this heat and enjoy!
