August 26, 2023 Yemassee, South Carolina

We start out early, that’s 9am for me. It was a long ride for today from the top of North Carolina to the bottom of South Carolina. It was a 6 hr drive. I thought I would write about the trees and fields that go on and so forth and so on, but today had some fun things we did and saw.

First, we stop for gas, and it’s a pretty usual stop. Dennys is no longer there at Flying J. That was a surprise, not that we stopped and ate. They also tried to charge us .59 for a cup I put water in for the cat! I told her this is a cup from a previous station…who, by the way, didn’t charge us. She gave us the cup and coffee for free. We are talking about $1.79.

Then we get ready to move on, and there is a truck with some gizmo attached to the rear. We looked closer, and a man and woman were sleeping in the grass! Never in my life have I ever seen that such a site. I don’t have the guts to stay in my RV in these parking places on the hywy! But, on the grass. There were even cicadas making their horrible noise.

Second thing that happened was we are traveling south to eventually go home to Florida. We get off and get diesel in the truck, get back on the hywy, and start going north! Really! I guess that’s what driving forever on I95 does to you. We laughed and turned around, and luckily, it was only 1 mile to the next exit. That provided for a good laugh.

Wait, I’m not done! So, we have been talking about getting another RV. In gettysburg, we even went to visit it at an RV dealer. So we get to our campground around 4ish. we pull into our spot and set up. We took a look around the campground and in front of us was

The Brinkley RV!!! this is the bigger one that we want in front of us!

They only started mfring them this year, 2023! I know there is a word for this meaning that this is at sign that we are to get this RV? Pretty spooky ya!

We decided to unhook the truck because we are in the path of a potential storm, maybe a hurricane, but hope not. We will stay put to find out depending on who you believe the storm will be our way Tuesday wednesday? I’m hoping my home in Florida, friends there, and all the people in the West Coast, panhandle manage to get thru it.

It was dinner time rather than cooking, I took out all the leftovers. A crazy meal, but we got thru it.

So that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. Thanks for stopping by. I truly appreciate it so much. Take care. I hope I gave you a smile.

Enjoy!
