We are trying to stay calm about the constant discussion on the TV about the hurricane about to hit the west coast of Florida.
It is Monday, so we decided to go to Walmart so we can pick up some groceries. They don’t have one that’s close to the campground. We expected it to be crowded. It was not crowded at all, but we did notice the cases of water and batteries are gone pretty much.
We got some stuff. We needed basically fresh green veggies to keep us going past the storm. We guess we will know more tomorrow. He is monitoring it every hour. I am not too concerned with our home, but in the RV, it is concerning, especially since the manager informed us there is nowhere to go. The place is covered in tall skinny trees, some dead or part dead!
I guess since this area is nearly at sea level

We also passed a marine base that is enormous! It is an airfield!

The weather here is so humid hot. I guess I forgot what FL is really like in the summer. This is a great reminder.
We hope that we don’t lose power. We have flashlights. But if we have no a/c help!
Then it was dinner time. I found a recipe for braised skinless bone-in chicken thighs. It had pearl couscous and onions, garlic and sun-dried tomatoes, and raisins. It was pretty delicious.
I guess I will watch the storm some more. There is not much else to do. I hope you enjoyed my story. Thank you again for stopping by. This should be the last week. I’m guessing we may be home sundayish? Depends on the hurricane.
Please be safe and stay inside during the storm. Or get to a shelter if need be. Hope I gave you a smile
Enjoy!
