Wow, what a day! IDELIA HURRICANE!
We started in a low country, N Carolina. We made a reservation to move to Perry, GA, for Tuesday. He was up at 5 am looking up the winds and tracking the storm. Looking for campsites away from where we were since this place is flooded before the hurricane landed. The entire campground was leaving except those few who live there permanently.
At 11am we decided to leave now. It poured all night long. The cat was so nervous looking up at the banging on the roof. We called the campground and renewed the reservation to Monday.
So pack up, get it all together, hitch the truck pack up, and move out at 1 pm. It’s raining, sure, lightening, sure. The road was not full of traffic. However, there were wind gusts that pushed the RV and truck. It was scarry. Not for long, but 1 second is forever!
Oh, are we done? No! Then the sky starts with many clouds, going dark. But then it was weird it was like a brownish grey everywhere, no clouds. Then the sky opened up like a sink turned on to full. You couldn’t see in front of the windshield. He tried different glasses luckily no one was in front of us. It didn’t last long, but wow!
Then we drove along in the rain and needed to get diesel for the truck. Pulled off the hywy, the sun comes out. We get gas and stuff pull back on the hywy, and the rain starts again. I call that very strange.
We drove along, rain the entire time, and finally got to the campground around 5ish. It was pouring rain.

I have to say this campground is designed really well. There is no pooling water anywhere, and roads are paved. Nice! Oh, and a lot of the rvs are from Florida. Now we know where an RV goes during a hurricane!
Now we have to set up the RV in the rain. We brought our rain coats in the truck. I waited in the truck until open up time. I went in it was pouring outside. When he came inside, he was drenched head to toes. Even the $$ in his pocket got soaked! We had to figure out where to hang all these clothes. The shower has the tomato plants!
I got the RV prepared and opened no issues. Now I will get the cat. Well, he was so not happy. He was frightened and started kicking. I almost lost him and myself. Luckily, when I almost lost my grip on the stairs, the slide out was open and caught me. The cat couldn’t be happier to get inside. I tried to wipe and dry him. No, he would have none of it. The look was enough to say get lost.
We had ravioli and salad for dinner. It was delicious! We were all exhausted such a long, wet day. Hope you got a smile, and thanks for stopping by.
August 30
Raining all nite long. Cat was so unsettled with the constant banging. We were tired from the day. But we wanted to hear what was happening with the storm. We watched TV off and on.

I can’t remember when we got up cause it didn’t matter it was still raining. We had breakfast and still raining. The storm came on land. Felt bad for the folks on the gulf in Tampa and other cities and towns. I hope my friends and son are doing okay in Palm coast. We keep watching and getting the emails and alerts.
Apart from watching TV and doing emails and whatever, that’s my day. Hope everyone is safe. Thanks for stopping by. Luv yas
Enjoy!
