May 14, 2024 Tuesday Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

OMG! What a long day! He woke me at 6:30 am that right there is a bad start…I am not a morning person! But it is supposed to be a bad traffic day, so we are starting out early, but no coffee or breakfast we hit the road around 8:00 a,m. It’s drizzling, no big deal.

In a short while, we stop for gas at flying J.  Ah, coffee, and he bought biscuits with egg, sausage and cheese! Yes, it is a true southern treat for 700 caleries. Oh, and don’t forget my huge mug of dark roast coffee. I’m good. It’s raining now, not too bad.

Well, we drove some more, and it was not raining hard to start, but it started to pour buckets. Not only was that bad, but the traffic became insane, as we expected, when we got up around Potomac Mills. Wow, talk about traffic, and you could not see with blinding rain. We came so close to 2 accidents. Stupid drivers were making NY moves, cutting in and out. Especially where the cut to follow Tysons to the right and 95 goes left. You have to know what you are doing on a sunny day because there is always traffic here. I’m telling you I saw more cars and trucks than I see in a year where I live. BUT, they are bldg like crazy gigantic communities one is right off our main street.

The drive never got easy. We finally got here at around 2:15 pm. He knows the drill and started proceeding with set up. The rain let up so he could start. Of course, by the end, it started again. THANK GOODNESS THE INSIDE WAS OKAY!

I set the inside up and the roads thru VA and MD. we’re so very bumpy big time over every bridge, I figure if I can make it thru these I can do susfari drives in Africa!

However, off topic,  I opened up the RV,  no trauma.  A plastic box with tools broke, and jars in frig fell,  A big bag fell out of pantry with a loud bang. Good thing his toes didn’t get hit.

We were exhausted for dinner, and we had hot dogs and refried beans with a salad. Oh, I see your faces. It tastes better than looking at it. I don’t remember going to sleep.

Well, that’s my day . One more before we get a new one. We dread the switching of stuffed bags everywhere. But, one day at a time!

Thanks so very much for reading my blog. I luv yas!  Stay safe and cool and enjoy!

Traffic on other side which later looked like on our side

Ghost says hi, it took him quite a while to settle down. He kept trying to rub his head on his arm and he needed to be driving with no distraction like a cat!
