Soaking wet is the title for today! This is day 1 of this years camping trip. I woke up at 6:30am early for me. However, we got everything together. My arms I think are longer. Yesterday I carried a load to the car, then the car to RV. I needed a shower after that haul. But, today I did it again. But, we hit the road around 11am. It started to rain, and yes,I brought the rain coats.
The roads in South Carolina kept slowing down on 95N to a stop several times. There was no accident, we couldn’t figure out why. We lost maybe 2 hours from these stops and starts. But, the rain was continual, heavy at times.
We did stop at flying J for gas $65 for a tank of desiel. I did got a large coffee in my gigantic mug. I even read a book will riding. We did see a few horse trailers. We also saw a house or cabin being towed had an A/C. I tried to get a picture but we pasted it too quickly.
We get to the campground and the first site was long enough but there was a tree in the way and an RV in the next site. We couldn’t do it. We get a different site getting to it was a task but we did it. The toilet and water connections were at the very beginning of the site. It is a raining non stop. It is not fun setting up in the rain the first day out. I came in and started to set up inside.
I start to put the the slides out. Unpack bags. It’s a test the first time you go out trying to remember where everything goes. The worst part is this is the first time we have gone camping without a cat. I still think of Ghost where he would be. But we have travel plans in Sept, Oct, and maybe Nov. We want to keep going while we can.
Dinner was a salad with chicken can’t get too creative on a wet day. EL was soaked clothes completely down to his skin. The raincoat doesn’t work anymore! I felt bad he was drenched all the way. I had to laugh but it’s not funny!!
Thank you so very much to read my first travel blog. My heart goes out to you. I hope I gave you a smile. Remember enjoy life!
