AWFUL IS THE FIRST WORDS I CAN DESCRIBE THESE DAYS!
We already were suffering with no wifi on July 3 and 4. Including TV. Unless you went to the clubhouse. On the 3rd we did go up to the clubhouse there were some kids in the pool. Not as crazy as I thought it would be. We stayed a few hours and came back.
We spent most of the 4th cleaning up and putting everything away. They predicted more rain on the fifth and we were leaving. There were predictions of severe thunder storms for the 4th too. I felt bad for those who want to see fire works. We made hamburgers and corn on the cob a typical 4th day meal! It did start to rain. It rained pretty hard. Then slowed a bit so off went the fireworks. But, during the evening it poured with thunder storms that were unreal! During the night we lost all power it was gone! Nothing! It was dark to sleep.
In order to leave we had to plug the RV into to the truck to give it power to hook up. It was an ordeal getting the two put together to get going. Luckily, we got it but it was raining. But, when we left, the traffic was horrible traffic lights didnt work anywhere.. The limbs of trees that fell were everywhere. There was one that was overwhelming! A huge tree fell across the main road and took wires with it. An awful amount of people all over PA were without power. We crawled to the hywy a foot at a time.
I tried to up load a picture but not yet. We couldn’t eat breakfast no power. I had some cottage cheese with fruit. We stopped for gas. We were hungry. I got a piece of pizza and he got chicken nuggets that were huge!
We finally made it to the next campground. We set up everything in the rain. Then about 15 mins later no power. Nothing total blackness. Glad we had flashlights. I didn’t think to bring those fake candles. Dinner? I brought our crackers hummus, cheese spreads chips dinner. We tried to go to bed early but heard noise. He watched as huge machines were driving the road by our RV to the pole with a transformer. It was very dark and quiet.
By the time we woke up there was power. I was never so great full. However still no TV. We may have power but now everything has to be charged with the power. So we gladly make waffles with fruit for breakfast. You never know how wonderful things are until you cant have them. A simple waffle iron! Ah BUT WAIT. ITS NOT OVER
OUR REFEIGERATOR IS DEAD! The worst thing to go! It s full of great food!
He tries to find something to explain what to do. Talk about upset. All sorts of books to describe this RV workings but not the refrigerator! Finally, he decides to call a number he found to get help. The man is nice and explained what to do. I wrote it all down. It could’ve been Russian, I had no clue what i just wrote down. He has all this knowledge about equipment. I swear he lived on a farm and did construction in another life. He knows everything on the hyways and farms.
The man gave him 20 mins to accomplish these notes. He went outside while I prayed to the refrigerator to start working again. I don’t want to loose the food. He needed help from some young guys, something about a screw on the negative battery was difficult to remove. However, after about an hour, the refrigerator came on. Talk about relief.
Oh, I forgot one other thing happened! As we were driving g on the hywy he saw something flapping so we pulled into an area to stop.
it appears that what was flapping was a window and it is gone! He spent a good part of the afternoon today blocking the area with waterproof tape. Can anything else go wrong. Yes, my tomato plant is soaking wet. I can’t explain’t it. My guess it may die. I’m miserable. I put them outside and then it got cloudy so I brought them in. What happens the sun comes out. HELP ME!
Well tonight I made mussels with couscous and peas. I NEEDED IT TO BE EASY.
I apologize for missing a few days. Actually it was out of my control not having any power. What a disaster, but we made it thru and will keep going and travel with our dear TUX, RV name.
Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough. I truly had no power to write anything. I probably would be screaming and it wouldn’t be readable anyway. Again, txs bless yas
