It is pretty weird to see these campgrounds that from year to year have been full and now they are missing a lot of seasonal campers.
We pack up get ready to move on. We are headed to Kentucky. We are going to Cave City, Kentucky. It should be 2 hours but to our dismay it was 4 hours. The first issue was the roads are awful. The bouncing up and down non stop. My poor neck was complaining.
We thought that was going to delay us. But, the main road straight down thru Louisville, Kentucky, pronounced Lou vill, by the folks who live here. The main highway was CLOSED,! OMG! Now I am a good navigator with maps and all. There is a beltway. Unfortunately, like most states it’s one road around the city. But here! There must have been maybe 6 additional roads cutting in thru the beltway. I got us thru but what a tense time. We stopped for gas and to breathe. I suppose we are lucky the time change back an hour. However, it still felt like it went forward 2 hours.
We got into the campground but it was fairly empty. We were shocked. We stop here every year and it’s packed. It was more than half empty. We get to our site, and we find on top of the electric box is a birds nest with 2 eggs. We complained. We didn’t want to be attacked by a bird. We were told don’t worry the mom hasn’t been back for over a year! OK then.
Dinner was chicken breast I tried to stuff it, but it was OK. We were both super hot. It is broiling outside in the 90s. I should be use to it coming from Florida, but there is some humidity.
That’s my story not a great day but I’m glad we are here a few days.
Thank you for reading my blog I hope you smiled.
Enjoy! Go plant some flowers!

Top of our electric box!
