Rome, Italy, October 29, 2026

Our one tour in Rome. We got a taxi who drove us to the office. It was packed. But, we got our guide with 5 other folks. He had a heavy itaian accent. We got an electric device that scans his voice into an ear plug so you can follow him and hear what he says.

We ent to the vatican museum, the private church and the vatican church. We didn’t seem to wait to get in. There were very many people. But the guide managed to get us thru. The knowledge he had on all the more significant statues was remarkable. Then he explain the significance of the Michelangelo paintings of the ceiling. The amount of gold is very impressive.

I remember the PITA sculpture of Mary holding Jeus.it is roped off and it is covered in a plastic or glass box. I told him I was there 25 years ago. It was very different. He looked like he didn’t believe me.

He further explained these rugs on the walls of various pieces of landscapes of countries or areas. There was a great deal of explaining the significance of the paintings on the ceiling.

The place and it’s bldgs are huge. The number of stairs climbing up and down made my hips sore. I could hardly walk anymore. We got a high paid taxi for 48 euros is expensive..to hotel. I passed out.

I woke for dinner. Since we looked at the menus we decjded to go across the street. We ordered a pizza with a bunch of stuff and beef spareribs. They both were very good but not as great as last night.

We finished and back to our room. Tomorrow the celebrity cruise!!!!!

Thanks for stopping to read my blog. Hope it gave you a smile! Enjoy!!!
