South Africa Jan 8 Richard’s Bay

Since I think the lost part of my blog is before the 9th. I will start here. We went on a tour yesterday to tula tula. It poured I sat in the front seat and was  beyond drenched.  I dont know if I wrote about this in the lost blog.  But, the animals were worth it. We saw two boy elephants fighting. Their noses got twisted together. They stamped the grand like little kids. They flew their ears back and forth. It was an experience to watch.

Then another was when 3 or 4 giraffes ran right across the road in front of us. They are elegant with their tall necks.  One was chewing a bone.

Then we were driving on this mud road and came upon a rhinoceros.  Boy is their butt huge! They move like a slow turtle.  He finally moved. They are just so huge.  They don’t move much. Their necks are leaning down.

Then we drive and see a bunch of ostriches.  They are bigger than I imagined. And they walked right up to the truck. One came so close that I had to move back. Tallest neck. Thought he was going to pick at me.

The  next group was of zebras. They are fairly big like a pony.  They are fun to see a bunch with stripes. They get lost among themselves. The stripes blend so well.

I don’t remember others. I can’t attach the photos, but I promise to get them to you somehow. I’m heartbroken. My blog disappeared.

Jan 9  and 10

Richards bay, but El wasn’t feeling well, and we had no tours, so he laid around all day. On the 11th, he was still not well and laid around and slept. It was a sea day.

I hung around the ship.  I saw a piano and singer for one show. Then I saw the later show at 9 another singer.  I was fine. I was with bullet mules.  In the morning, I took 2 Tylenol.  It was fun.  I met so many Brits.  The largest group on the ship. One couple was from Australia.

My biggest disappointment is no cats, lions, and leopards!

WHERE IS MY TRAVEL BLOG

What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

The question in this day and age must be your phone.  Think of all the info and connections that is on it.

  • 08/12/23 gettysburg PA

Yup, we are back here again! I don’t really like it, coming back here. Usually, we have gone south to Georgia and then FL, or across Va, so we can see my friends there.

I woke up with a call from my son in FL. I was concerned he usually calls later in the day. Something important. Well, I was happy his diabetes has gone from over 400 to 200 in, I think, 10 days. Yup, it’s a miracle, and all those who prayed are being heard. Keep praying so he can rid himself of this disease. He has enough to deal with keeping my kidney alive!

That was get news so he even helped and went to my house to let the worker in to fix my A/C. My house was 89, yuck! But it’s fixed yeah !

We went to the pharmacy to get my drugs. One medicine I am not aloud to get until September. The other medicine, which I need NOW, I have to get a doctor’s order.? What the heck? The doctor called it in! So I’m living on tums till it gets straighten out. Sucks!

Then we stopped in giant grocery store. I didn’t think we got alot but it was $100.00. BOY, do I miss the Amish stores!

Then we came back put everything away. I got to pick off the dead leaves from the tomato plants being in the shower. Let me add some pictures.

This one tiny one block street is the town in these farms that stretch for miles
We went thru this section for miles of construction, no housing to be seen, except for this church, maybe blessing everyone to have a safe ride
A farm with miles of stock. Do they get lonely? Where is your neighbor? Ah! That’s where the church comes into play!

Well, thanks once again for stopping by. I so appreciate it. Time is getting short now cause I will be home in a couple of weeks.

Ah, but don’t despair, I have planned a vacation in a lodge in Tennessee in Sept. Stay tuned!

  • 11/24/23 travel to ft lauderdale to meet our cruise ship tomorrow

We packed yesterday I went to my cruise closet and started picking clothes. Mind you it’s only for 8 days. I haven’t cruised in a long while. So, I pack my stuff and fill the huge suitcase. My husband can barely lift it from the floor this morning. I felt bad and so I took some out. I’m way over packed. I had it down to a science and forgot how.

We have breakfast and get Mr Ghoost ready for his hotel room. We go to zip the suitcase and the zipper is broken and is not attached in one area. OmG! Ah! I remember this other huge suitcase we had to give up because it’s size was too big for planes! Really! But, I got it and transferred the clothes. It went alot smoother than I thought. Thank goodness it all stayed together. Get the cat and pack the car.

We drive to the Cat Clinic which is only cats. They love him there. He is friendly and talks. What’s not to love with his white coat with splash of butterscotch, and blue eyes!

We got back on the road and drove down rt 1 for a while. It is so old, small run down motels everywhere. We finally got on 95S and drove the rest of the way. 4.5 hrs. Stopped once for gas. I got my flying J coffee, somehow it was free. We even ordered a small burrito each which really hit the spot! Back on the road the rain wasn’t too bad and wasn’t continuous. The traffic slowed around ft lauderdale but again didn’t stop.

We get to the hotel and the parking lot is packed not a spot to be hold. No wait we found one spot and took it. We go to check in. All new folks running the place. Pay for parking now $10/night, ugh! So the manager gives us 2 sights to try on line that will be cheaper. We go to our room. I try the sights both are full. Now what! He explains we need to go inside the gate when we come back from dinner. Fine!

We drive down the road and we find my favorite Greek restaurant, My big fat Greek restaurant! Oh, the food is to die for! I had a spanakopita platter. It was so delicious! Came with Greek salad and stuffed grape leaves. Wow! He had pork grilled platter. Also, delicious! I couldn’t move from the table.

We came back and the code didn’t open the gate. Frustration times 10! We go in to report it and he tells us leave the car in the spot and just charged us for parking. Before covid they didn’t charge us.

We go up to our room and get ready to relax and settle down. There is music blasting in our room from somewhere! Help! We put on the TV hoping it will tune out the music. You can still feel the base.

We leave tomorrow I’m hoping the cruise gets better. Thanks for stopping by to join my cruise.

    stay healthy and ENJOY!

  • 11/28 st thomas

We had breakfast. I cant miss a chocolate croissant for breakfast! We got in Port a bit late. But for us, it’s okay, so we got ourselves together to get off ship.

We got off the ship, and there are shops installed just for the cruise ships. But, it’s fun to shop and look. It was weird because we saw the store with the color change stuff and the one with bamboo as the fabric used to make everything. But, no one was in the stores, and no one was willing to help, so we left.

There are an abundance of jewelry stores they all want you to buy something. Then we left and saw a big iguana and a female. They didn’t want to be watched. We couldn’t help seeing the female waving her hands to get away. Don’t know how it ended.

There wasn’t much to buy unfortunately, everything on shore was more than the ship prices? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of going independently? On the land.

We saw some prices on the trip beat the store.

I was miserable last night. I forgot my before dinner pills. That should teach me never again. I had chicken osso bucuo for dinner last night it was good.

Then after, we went to another stage show. It’s hard to figure out the story. They are excellent dancers. But, they are screaming rather than singing it is so loud. I struggle to figure out some words.

When it’s over, we went back to the room. We are so done that we want to sleep. I was up with acid reflux. it was my fault forgot dinner pills.

Thanks for stopping by on our cruise. Hope you are well and Enjoy!

  • 12/11/21 pre-cruise day!😁

Yup, I am off again to do more traveling. I really enjoy it. I started years ago when I went hitch hiking in Europe every summer with a different set of friends. Back then it was the thing to do. The world was a different place. We didn’t get in trouble and we saw no violence. I would be afraid now.

But, I’m not hiking I’m cruising and not overseas but to the carribean. So tomorrow we leave on the Harmony of the seas, Royal Carribean.

We didn’t rush getting ready. I packed yesterday one large suitcase for clothes the little one for stuff. You know like a makeup bag, meds, lotions, chargers, jewelry. I have a whole bag. Okay, so my thing is jewelry. Other women have shoes, shopping, books the list goes on.

My black cat did not want to leave. He was traumatized poor thing he wouldn’t let go of me. It was so sad he doesn’t like it over where we bring him. I wish we had someone who would like going in to feed them and that we could trust.

However, we dropped them off and started our drive to Port Canaveral. It was around 3:30pm when traffic on 95 stopped. This is why we leave and stay at a hotel right near the cruise line port. This way you don’t have panic you will miss the ship. Especially in ft lauderdale and Miami the traffic there is an outrage.

Well we got to our hotel it’s always nice. We went to our room which is nice. But, I have a headache but the pills are in the big pack in the big suitcase. We went to the front desk and the lady said she has 2 Tylenol for $3.00. She told us where the closest place was instead. Ha! I tried to open our big suitcase in the trunk. Don’t do it! Things looked like they about to fall out. We brought it upstairs.

The lights went out maybe 3x before it was fixed. Pretty scary. But we need some dinner. He researched where to eat. Since we are down by the water the seafood restaurant are plenty. We picked FiSHLIPS. We asked for a seat outside on the pier. It was lovely seeing boats watching the large birds flying around. We even saw a dolphin swimming by. The highlight was watching an Norwegian mega cruise ship go by. Everyone got up to the fence and waved at the ship. The food was very good. We started with calamari, and shared a seafood roll. It was delicious and huge! Served with French fries which were excellent! We don’t eat white potatoes but this was a great exception!

Well, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Upon leaving a man asked if we liked the Santa’s chocolate stout. Yummo! It was excellent!

Back to the room it’s early 7:00 or close. I was able to finally paint my nails. Oh, this hotel has a full bar outside, and you can order pizzas and cook them in a small pizza oven. Pretty nice! Well tomorrow we go to the ship. The hotel has breakfast so we are good.

But, the ships pier are changed. You have to pick a time of arrival. No longer do you get there around 10-11! We had to arrange for a van pick up for the arrival time is 1:30pm! This is due to COVID. We had to be tested 2 days ago and you have to have the shots. In fact Wednesday we had our booster. I was miserable Thursday. Aches everywhere, head neck, back, shoulders. But today I’m good to go!

Thanks for continuing to read my blog. I hope you smiled at my post.

  • 12/12/21 aboard the Harmony of the seas

What a crazy long day! Let me begin by saying nothing was easy. Also, I really did try to reserve stuff before getting on to no avail! Such was the start of the day.

We went down to breakfast and COVID has made it so annoying. You have to put on plastic gloves. But anything you could touch before you can’t now. For example, juice was a machine you put your glass up to and it came out. Now it’s bottled orange or apple. There use to be raisins, nuts to add to cereal, gone. There are no shakers for salt or pepper just these little paper squares. You get the idea.

We packed up to meet our ride. You can see the ship from the hotel. The new policy is a reserved time of arrival at the port. Ours was 1-1:30pm. You stand in line until you finally get to an officer who examines your COVID tests. Yup check two shots, oh no our COVID was 3 not 2 days before boarding we can’t get on. WHAT??? We have get another test! I feel panic riding up in my body. Where do we go? Across to the other side of the parking lot at a truck testing COVID. We go and get the test I’m shaking I’m over stressed! $200.00 later we get negative papers. Go back across the lot and get in line in the front. Wait again until you clear the health test and show your records.

It’s not over! You still have to have your carry on checked. They were seriously checking everything. I brought some water and they checked each was not opened! Thru out the water in my thermos!

Finally get to the room keys are in the door. The room has lots of drawers. We drop our carry on and go out to see the ship. Our big suitcase shows up. Right place at the right time. Get it and put in the room.

Now we find you must check in at some station that you read all the safety stuff. We finally find that after walking back and forth and they check us out.

Ah! But we are not done! We must have reservations for the entertainment! This is too difficult! We stand in line and finally ask this staffer to help us. Thank goodness she had the patience of a saint. We are so not techy. She helped us reserve every night of entertainment. Are we done yet?

We go for a food break. We go to the 16th floor the buffet. Everything has to be served. You can’t take anything. He had soup and shrimp. I had shrimp, cheese, small tomato salad, no lettuce.

Well now we find out we have to reserve dinner time, even though we signed up for anytime dining. Someone helps us for tonite. We could find no one to help with the rest. Help.

We go back to our room. I unpack everything. First time we have enough hangers! So it’s already getting late. We go to a bar and have margaritas! We saw the guys exercising and diving by the show pool. They are built with muscles. a girl was stretching and picked her leg up straight to her ear! Ow!

We went to wait on the dinner line. We ask the man in charge at the head if he could help us reserve dinners. He said come back after dinner. We both ordered beef. Mine was rare and half the size of the plate! Crazy. I ate till I almost bust open. We had wine. We told our waiter of our problem getting reservations. Some man came by and helped us. Yippee finally.

We stopped at a bar and I had a gin and tonic he got jack daniels. We strolled thru Central Park until we hit another line for the show Grease. They finally got us seats we ordered another drink. Hey, we get 4 free drinks a day! I’m not giving up one!😁 The show was good I recalled a number of the songs. Would have liked to see a newer one.

Well that was a tuff day. Lines and reservations and a COVID test. What a way to start a cruise! But there is always tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by and reading about my stressful day. Hope yours went well! There’s always tomorrow!

  • 12/13/21 Nassau in Bahamas

We had a decent sleep. Up and dressed and decided to go have breakfast in the main dining room. We both ordered lox and a bagel. The lox was good but the bagel was worse than a frozen hockey puck!

We hear we lost time to a helicopter lift for a person in the early morning. Lost some time.

We get in line to get off the ship. Need picture, like license or passport and shot cards and sea pass. We get by. The walk to the street was not fun. They are extending the pier, and it was a long walk but got to the street. Then Main Street store after store for malls. They had an Effy store. Selling my new leopard bracelet with an emerald. I asked the price. $20,000. But, for me $12,000! Wow! I feel in love with sapphires round with a palm tree. But, I just can’t spend thousands again so soon after November.

We finally left and walked to the straw market. It had a lot of empty stalls. They hustled you to death to buy something. They even grabbed you hand and put a woven bracelet on and asked for money! Creepy!

A Man who had a facial store for lack of another name pulled me in and put this stuff under my eye which did removed some lines. He wanted $300 for the bottle! Yikes!

We then walked back to the ship. There is nothing but stores everywhere.

I’m sorry I can’t recall the day. At this point the iPad ran out of power and so did I. I haven’t had a chance to return till now 3 days later.

  • 12/14/21 day at sea

I woke up late he had to wake me at 9:15 breakfast closes at 10:30am. So get ready and go to breakfast. We just made it. I had lox w/o a bagel and smoked mackeral, fruit and good to go. I held against getting delicious bread! We went to a shopping seminar. What to buy where and from which store. I knew the recommended ones we have been here before. Anyhow from there we to lunch I had a small Brie and ham grill sandwich. It was small, no dessert! He had the signature roast beef sandwich.

Then we went to an art auction and I fell in love with a Kosobi. At the auction and fell in love with a krazanski plate. Yes, we have one but this was on copper too! It was an amazing deal. But I’m over my head! I am having a struggle.

Somewhere there was dinner and since it was dress up nite there was excellent beef tenderloin rare it was excellent. He had duck a l’orange. It was dry but with added sauce it was good.I think I had the events for the day out of order but I don’t think it matters.

We went back to our room. I took a shower. It is formal night I wore black pants with a nice shirt and Effy jewelry. We had to go and sign up for a VIP shopping card. I met a lady directly from NYC representing EFFY! It was nice to meet her. She said to meet her at the store perhaps she can get me a deal on something! I’m VIP at EFFY. For me I have spent plenty there.

Then we went to the show of a juggler.. He was fantastic! He was an excellent juggler, but his routine was filled with humor and with his interaction with the audience was great!

The last thing we did was stop in a bar and have this drink called Dublin something! Cant remember! It had lots of booze but it was ok.

The best part of this was that they had 2 men playing guitar and singing rock and roll. The one person the guitarist blew everyone away. He was more than outstanding He moved his fingers so fast and made beautiful rock music. He play it behind his head and he played both hands up the neck. it was so masterful that the entire bar was yelling and clapping. He was the real deal. I wish my son could hear it!

We went back to our room. We are exhausted from a wonderful busy day.

    Thanks again for stopping by.

I woke up early because we were going to walk around Costa Maya. We went to breakfast and everyone was talking about the cancellation due to the wind. It was pretty windy outside. I felt badly for the stores. We have been there before and it’s not much. A town built for cruise ships.

So instead I ate a big breakfast. Eggs Benedict, fruit bowl, banana muffin which was a lot.

We then went to the diamond club because they have fancy coffee, lattes and such. So we had specialty coffee. We then went back to the room to relax. I sat outside in the sun, finally for 20 minutes and read a magazine.

Then I was hot so I laid on the bed and fell asleep. Guess I was tired.

We decided to try some lunch in the buffet. I got paella. But it was not very good. Don’t know what was missing but I cleaned out the mussels and shrimp. Then we went for a walk and stopped at our favorite bar. I had some weird drink with beer and booze and it tasted like beer with a strange mix and honey!

We went back to the room and I changed for dinner.we had a glass of our wine. We had time the show wasn’t until 10pm.We then walked around and went to dinner.. Coconut shrimp, shank of lamb which was yummo! And broccoli. I always get desserts. A mouse brownie to die for! We had wine with dinner.

After dinner we had time I didn’t want to go to the same bar. We tried the Latin bar. No music so it wasn’t packed. The bartender made me drink with bourbon but it wasn’t as good as his in the other bar. It was weird tasting. we sat and talked and hung out. We went for another walk and still had time before the show. There was a bar near the diving pool so we ordered our fourth drink. mine was gin with some grapefruit. I was not lucky with drinks tonite.

We finally sat at the diving pool. It’s a stage. It was suppose to be a story. We didn’t get it. Way to silly but the diving was good to see.

We then went to our room. I’m tired and so is he.

Thanks for coming by. I’m trying to get pictures from the phone to the iPad. I’ve done it before so please be patient. Even though I’m loosing mine!

  • 4/18. Mishawaka
I woke up and went to the window. I was surprised to see such activity. The ducks were there. There were these tiny black birds with red under their wings when they fly! So pretty. Then we saw cardinals and blue jays so pretty blue and red.  I just stood and watched. Don’t know how long. I want to go home. i didn’t exercise I didn’t feel like it.  I read my book a lot today. It’s about the south and underground network and slavery. It can get fairly involved in its description. i am not happy, my cat is not eating much and losing weight. I am so worried. We are going to try and come home in 4 days instead of 5.  I volunteered to drive but El just laughed at the idea! well for breakfast to cheer me up he made yummy French toast! 641EC230-6092-41FE-BAE9-E69776A78A9FOh we have blueberry syrup and I wrote it’s from VT. But, that was in error it is from Maine, maple syrup is VT. Both are yummo! i don’t know what I did this afternoon, worry about my cat, search the world for a pull up bar for my son and found one, but where it is and when he will get it is up in the air!  What a mom does for her son! i saw a huge hawk land in front of our window with huge feet and take off into the tree.  Pretty cool. Then it was dinner time I made some concoction with chicken, couscous, and added Greek flavor to it, like feta, black olives, cukes, tomatoes onion, pesto and other stuff. I don’t write it down so I can’t make stuff again when it’s delicious!,,, we shared our last beer, no wine, how will I go on! Oh yes we still have some bourbon!    I watched the special on channel 7. It was nice some good some not so good.  But at least there weren’t the numbers of sick and dead.  Thanks to all that struggle day in and out within this pandemic. i will try to get into my book to keep my mind off my cat stay safe and healthy and pray my kitty is ok
  • 4/5/2017 trip home
OMG! The flight from Aussie to LA is 14 hours!  It was so long. Imagine we left at 9:40am and was in LA at 11:30am. Where I’d the time go? I saw 3 movies! I saw gold which was eh, I saw Manchester by the sea sad but not. Actually, I must have missed something cause everyone I spoke to was devastated and I wasn’t,  ok something is wrong with me?  I also saw Allied that too was ok. Then on the second flight, which we had to run a mile for and made it with 15 mins left!  We had 2 hours. But, you have to get the luggage or ports, then go thru customs, then too tax refund..1 hour in line crazy, then to another terminal! On this flight which is another 41/2 hours. I started hacksaw ridge late and got half way. But, it seemed like an interesting movie.  Of course my car didn’t start but the shuttle guy had cables.yeh! Oh as many times I have been to Orlando airport we got lost coming home! Help me. We finally got home.  I forgot to mention we had a private limo to pick us up! You wouldn’t believe the maneuver he pulled to cut in line, if it was a foot it was huge! I told him in NYC he would have his head blown off! He told me he has heard that before! Ha Well I’m steep in laundry and the mail is insane. I got my kitties and they are fine. Thanks to all who came along. I luv ya and hope that you enjoyed the trip. Until next, time, Sydney all the way around..crazy!probably the RV trip this summer. Perhaps in May mid month. Again thanks so very much.
  • 5/30 & 31 Gettysburg to Hersey PA

Yesterday was just awful. I could get zero internet all day. It reminded me of NYC traffic. This place was crazy with all the big RVs hooking up and moving out. It was something to see all these people packing up and connecting all their stuff. Lucky for us we don’t leave until tomorrow.

It was a very hot day. I got pain in my hip and tried to take a walk to get rid of it. I learned that I walk better on flat roads rather than these gravel roads. I stretched it along my walk and when I got back it was gone. But, I was soaked from the heat.

I spent the day putting things in their right place. It takes time to set it all up. It looks thrown but it’s thought out. Even the frig I have metal bars for each shelf but they have to be place just so. The food has to be placed so nothing flies out when we are done!

I made flank steak stir fry. Simple sauce. Garlic, leeks, ginger and soy. Then add spinach at the end. Yummo!

    May 31

We get up and put it all together. El has to use his new GPS. It is not far and it’s hot again. We get there but can’t decide on a spot. El timed it perfect we got there when they open for new people. We finally picked a spot, nice and grass and trees out back. Unfortunately, I went to pick something up and smacked my head into an open cabinet. I have had a headache since then.

Luckily for dinner we had a frozen pizza. We watch a bit TV but I want to go to bed.

The farms are so nice with huge land
I love that the Main Street of Hersey has candy kisses!

    Thanks for stopping by.

  • 5/5/2024 Monday, Yemessee, South Carolina

I woke up and it took a few seconds to remember where we were! A getting older thing, probably!

Bags and boxes everywhere and every muscle hurts. But we are here the start of our summer. I was angry at myself for not writing this last night. I’m so sorry to you and me.

We had bagels and white smoked fish for breakfast. It’s one of my favorites. I remember moving things around. We don’t want to unpack everything because hopefully, in 2 weeks, we will get a new one. It makes life a bit difficult because I really dont remember where I packed everything. Talk about a push on your patience.

We had a thunderstorm, and that’s when we did the above stuff.

I forgot how absolutely LOUD the rain is on the roof. We had a few issues, but my favorite is when the TV didn’t work. He worked on it and tried every recommendation. We took a walk, and when we came back and settled in, out of nowhere, the big TV fell to the floor! Spirits?

He started playing with it again and the TV started and was fine! OK then!

We went on a walk to check out the RVs. I also like to look at the license plates where campers come from. For example, this gorgeous painted red and black bus huge 40 ft came from South Dakota. Really, where is a South Dakota state?

Then another one gigantic truck, doolly (double tires) huge toy hauler. This is one where the rear door is like a garage. This one is from Texas? We know why he left! Lots of RVs are from Texas.

Then we saw this RV that had to be permanent. They had gardens like crazy? They were growing several different tomatoes, green beans, onions, radish, other spices, and peppers. I was very impressed.

Before going back, we stopped at the office he wanted to thank the lady for her encouragement. She felt so bad on the phone. But, oh, she can talk! Even El said he thinks she can go on more then him! He can go on and on!

We came to the RV and I immediately grabbed a wine glass and had some Port. Time to chill before starting dinner. I took out two giant beef chuck eyes! He cooked it rare on the grill! Yummy! I added corn and broccoli, and some wine but of course!

I probably spent some time doing emails and such stuff like deleting and reading.

At this point I was probably exhausted. My back and side muscles hurt. Am I getting to old for this stuff!

Well thanks 2 million for stopping by. Be healthy and safe. And don’t forget to Enjoy!

    Okay NOW

so I didn’t post this last night as I told you forgive me. So, if you follow me and thanks I luv u, I always have a hard time getting started with the techy stuff. Well, I don’t know what I hit but this page disappeared. It did not go to draft. I pushed every button for over an hour nearly crying but then I hit something and it appeared! Yup just like that!

Now a thing I have trouble starting every year is getting the pictures. Once again I’m trying. But they will be attached at some time I figure it out. One other apology you may get old blogs. Part of my struggle when I lost this blog.

  • 6/1 & 2/2022. Hersey, PA

It’s funny how we have been here so many times it’s become comfortable. We know where everything is located here.

We did our morning chores and just had to get out to visit our most favorite grocery store in the country. Its the country store. Their prices are ridiculously cheap. We have to control ourselves. Nearly everything is under a dollar in their discount aisle. But, it’s all named brands. Sometimes the box is bent, or the can is dented but for the price it’s worth it.

It is run by the Amish and they are all so cute. I got a picture

The girls where the long dress and cap on their head.

I also love the farms they seem to be all so huge with lots of land.

I also love the way you can see far into the mountain vistas.

I started to work on my veggie group for my recipe book. Wow! I didn’t realize there were so many recipes for different veggies that exist! Nor how many different ways to cook them. The biggest group? What do you think?

It’s between green beans, sweet potato, cauliflower, and beets! It’ll take a while to get it all set up. It is extremely hot outside. It is hotter than Florida! They promise terrible thunder storms. But we didn’t get any.

June 2nd. We have breakfast and decide to go to the close hardware store because I bought a grape tomato plant and a pepper plant. They come with tiny plastic pots. I needed soil and a larger pot. We drove over to the store. Now, tell me how many hardware stores do you know of that sell baby chicks?

Bucket of baby chicks for sale $3.50 each!

What do you do with a baby chick? Well I got my pot and soil. Came back to the campground and proceeded to switch the plants to bigger pots with more soil. They were very happy! We even took ghost our white cat, out on the table to watch. He loves being outside.

We had a drink, some kind of mule drink! It is made with bourbon and ginger beer! Yummo! I made some concoction for dinner with cauliflower, chickpeas, corn, tomatoes with a curry sauce. It was good.

Well I’m watching TV and going through a huge amount of recipes. Some are 10 years old! That’s sounds kinda sick! Even to me! I must be nuts.

Anyhow, I’m going to try and do a blog everyday. But it gets harder when you have been everywhere before many times. The gas prices are not helping either for the truck are running $5.50 -$5.99 per gallon!

The back of our site is a large hill with grass. The other night there must have been a parade of ducks at least 25 including a bunch of babies. They were right out our back window!

I will try and get a bigger bunch!

Well the storms are now predicted for tonite! We shall see! Thanks for stopping by. It is so amazing to me I have a following and over 150 readers. Crazy right?

Enjoy your summer it is almost officially here!

  • 6/10 Hersey, Pa Friday

I had to look at our day clock because you loose time and days camping. I do anyway. I am getting bored. I started working on my recipes. I finished sweet potatoes and tomatoes and that last one zucchini. But, I now have a pile of misfits. Veggie multiples I will tackle tomorrow and be done with veggies. Yippee!

I then have to put meats on paper. But at least they are separated per meat.

We didn’t have breakfast until Close to 1:30pm! His bro called and they talked for a while. He just got divorced and is in limbo with his life. So we try and give him support.

I worked until I couldn’t stand it anymore! Yup, I do get to that point and say what the heck are you doing! He recognized my dilemma and said it’s time to walk. Boy did a I need it!

Another beautiful day, we have been lucky with the weather! On our walk we saw a painted RV what a job!

    Nice huh!

We kept on walking it’s a bit up hill so it’s good for me. I want to strengthen my hips if I can. We saw some expensive RVs. I am talking like at least $100,000. Yup and above! We are staying with our Sani, but as some of you know never say never! Ha

On the way back we saw tons of ducks!

Check it out they literally go from the left across and up to the right. Behind the sign there is a creek and a bunch are there too drinking. This does not include the ones on the other side of the road who haven’t crossed yet!

Anyhow, I had my meds sent to my mother in law since we are going back to Gettysburg July 4th. It seemed the best way to get them.’

It is dinner time again. I thought I was making this chicken korma from this packet I got at the store. However, it requires raw chicken breast. I have cooked bone in legs. Not even close. I was lost. So I made a salad and put everything I could find in it. Yummo! I finished my cake finally I can Open the chocolate one tomorrow!

Thanks a million for stopping by again luv yas. I’m watching Ninja Warriors! I always think of my son when I see this show. I think he could do it. He is a ninja!

  • 6/10 sat still Hersey PA

Oops! I forgot to write my blog before going to sleep. We had french toast for breakfast with white soft rye but this time we bought cinnamon Yummo!

I am working on vegetables for my recipe book. OMG! Do you have any idea how many there are? I thought green beans took the most or cauliflower! But no SWEET POTATOES definitely I saved the most!

It doesn’t end! Any how, I needed more scotch tape so we went to the country store. $1.99 for 3 rolls! Every time I go there I spend $30ish dollars it’s crazy. I got a huge head of lettuce right out of the ground .69cents! You know the brand name Lundberg? I got a lb of whole grain rice 1.49, how about Muir Glen? 28oz can diced tomatoes .99! I could go on but I don’t want to over bore you!

The farms and there homes are so pretty

    Farm near campground

And the views of the farms

We think the first stuff is corn and wheat?

We drove back to the campsite and found this in the road

    Baby ducks across the road

Funny how they always have an adult duck watching for harm

Luckily we didn’t need that road!

I can’t remember much else. Oh I so wanted to take a picture of a female cardinal who landed on our back ladder! Then the male joined her. A great picture! By the time I fumbled with my phone to get the picture they flew off! It was such a good picture!

So for dinner I made pork chops. The didn’t defrost so we used this metal board. I don’t remember what it’s called or where we got it? But, darn if it doesn’t work every time. You lay whatever you want defrosted and in a short time it’s done.? I don’t know how.

But the recipe said brown in pan and put in oven. However, I browned them fine and nice and dark. But, I burnt the bottom of the pan! I am hopeful it comes out over time.

Well once again thanks so much for those who continue to travel with me! I know it’s not nearly as exciting as the cruises we take but at least we got out of the heat in Florida. I also like visiting friends and family.

  • 6/12 & 13/22 Sunday and Monday Hershey PA

Sunday, I can’t say I remember a lot of this day. Probably that’s why I didn’t write anything. The weather was okay compared with Fl. weatherHot but not the humidity.

I don’t recall why we went to town but we came right back. Then decided we need to walk. I don’t think we brought the cats. We walked somewhere and I asked why the weather was so oppressive. He said wait till later on today. He was right it got darker and rained, when it was over we went on another walk, it was nice out. I remember the pool had some kids. We walked past the pool to the parking lot. It was filled with these golf carts.

Really do these people need a cart this fancy to move around. Why not try to at least walk! I have a bad hip and I force myself to walk. The exercise might do these folks some good!

Anyhow the day went by and I made pork tenderloin for dinner. It was fun since I just started the meat folder. I can’t remember what it was that I used. I can’t remember the rest of the night!

Today is Monday, I thought it was going to storm but it’s sunny outside! We had eggs for breakfast and I was told we are going to the country market to see if they had ginger beer. We love the Kentucky mules!,,

Well they didn’t have any, but we never go empty handed from this store.

We got back and he wanted to get the the flyer for this week. So change to sneakers and we walk. The sun is very hot. But, the humidity is not there. We get back and i work on my meats. I am doing pork.

He decided to go for a walk on his own. Good thing because I took out chicken and didn’t know what to do with it. So I pulled out the chicken recipes and started scanning. Oh, wait I saw one easy enough. you simmer cut up chicken in water with garlic and ginger and then wrap in lettuce! Well yummo! We both loved it! We made a Chinese sauce to marinate the shredded chicken then I cut up carrots, cukes, and tomato. It was fun and delicious.

Well I watched twilight zone and Alfred Hitchcock! OMG! I loved both of these when I was a kid. You never know what these channels you will get.

It’s bed time to watch tv or read and fall asleep.

Once again I love you folks who continue to follow my travels.

    Stay healthy and safe!

  • 6/12 Sunday Hersey PA

It’s raining! A few times I wake up at7am. The cats the white one screams MA Ma. In your ear. The black one licks your face! Could you sleep thru that? They want breakfast. Only I don’t feed them.

So it’s chilly in the RV it goes down to the 50s at night. I can’t sleep so I read a book. It’s warm and cozy!

I sat at my table and finished, yes, finished veggies. It’s the size of a book on its own!

I watched old time cowboy shows on TV. It made me think of my mom. She loved them, have gun will travel, bonanza, you get the idea. It was fun.

Then I made a cardboard cat house with scratch boards for the floor. The white cat loves it the black walks carefully around it!

Dinner was a failure. I made pasta and it came out all stuck together. Then I made mussels but I didn’t like them either. I did make asparagus and that was good. Oh well one bad one is not horrible.

Well I might as well go finish my book. It is depressing about a midwife in a German gas camp. Aushvitz(spelling?). You have heard of it. Just a heart breaking story what happened to the babies. I wont go on!

Luv yas thanks for stopping by even on a rainy day!

  • 6/14 Tuesday still Hersey PA

Okay so staying in one place three weeks is a long time. I think two is my limit. I feel better letting it out! I know the price of diesel is the reason so I will shut up and move on.

We had bagels with white fish one of my favorite breakfasts. The weather reports here are just not adequate. They are always wrong. It’s driving me nuts. The say bad storms and we barely get a drip of rain. They say broiling weather it’s in the 80s. I don’t know at home the station has a weather truck that follows what’s happening maybe they should try that. Or get some better weather trackers.

I worked at my desk trying to get thru with meat. I did pork and that nearly killed me. Now I’m going thru beef, need I tell you how many versions of beef and steak there are? I finished ground beef and that alone was a book. Tomorrow I tackle beef chuck it can be stew, steak, shredded you get the idea. I think after meat I am going to go to another hobby. I have two categories pasta and desserts, drinks, and appetizers are in one.

We need to buy some more ginger beer. Our to go store doesn’t carry it. Tomorrow we go elsewhere. Yup it’s important our new favorite drink the Kentucky mule! Besides I’m nearly out of propel and tea!

I picked out a veggie dinner Green Curry. It took a while to cut everything. I always put my own spin on it, instead of cumin and coriander I decided to use Thai chili paste and sezuhan (spelling) seasoning. Just a bit of each. With broccoli and bok choy. I served it on top of rice. It was yummo! Just enough heat.

I am watching TV at least we get Americas got talent and dance with myself which is crazy but we get what we get.

Thank you for your continued support. At least tomorrow we are go out and about the town! Luv yas

    Stay safe and healthy!

  • 6/15&16 Hersey PA

I’m sorry I blew this one! I want to write everyday but at the end of the day I’m too tired to write. When I’m truly traveling to places which I haven’t been or cruising , well that’s another life!

I’m going to start with the 15th because it was a fun busy day. We decided to go shopping but in different stores. So first we went to Walmart. I know exciting right? I wanted to get another case of Propel my brand of flavored water. They only had 12 bottles of the same flavor, yuck! I like different ones! well, they had ICE. A case of different flavors. Ice though is sparkling and it’s no longer my favorite. I shall survive! We got some other stuff. Oh yes scotch tape! I need it for my recipe book. Project.

After here, we went down the road to a grocery outlet. It is like a factory but set up nicely. I remember being here before. I only remember getting sesame oil. But, we did get some other stuff.

So we passed this farm where the cattle were hanging by the corner

    Cows

Then on the way back I was thinking how huge these corn fields are for real! They too go on and on! How does he know what every piece of farm equipment does! He was a farmer in another life.

How does he know what every piece of farming equipment is used for and how does he know what this bldg below is used for?

    Chicken house

I would not have a freakin clue!

So on the way back we decide to stop at the country store. I forget why! We we’re out of something. There is always something to buy for .99 cents!

Well we get back and try and find a place to put all we bought from three store. The bills are around $30.00 each and you would not believe how much that buys in these stores! Yup, it’s crazy!

Okay so it’s dinner time. I flip thru my recipes. It’s easier now cause they are all separated by type of food, like meat, chicken, veggie, or beef. Then each type is broken down into types within the category and how it’s cooked. For example. chicken. Well are we looking for breast, chicken thigh. Then how to cook it? Oven, skillet? Then bone in or skinless. You get the idea!

I am looking for eggplant. I found several with Parmesan! I picked one and made the eggplant Parmesan. I used my own pasta sauce. Delicious! I just got to fix eating late. 7pm is too late. I am working to fix it.

I hope you enjoyed my rambling of a couple of days ago! Stay healthy and safe!

It is Thursday 6/16. I now have to remember yesterday! We had eggs for breakfast. The news doesn’t not have a handle on weather. They can’t get it right! It was suppose to rain all day. They indicated storms even a possible tornado! It rains at different times then predicted and there was no tornado. I’m not surprised.

So it was a boring day. What to do in an RV all day? So I worked on my recipes. Do you believe I found one from 2012! It’s a sickness. I’m nuts!

But, that is what I did today pretty crazy and the day went by. Out of nowhere it was dinner time. I looked thru my recipes for cod fish and green beans. I got the cod recipes and a green beans recipe. Unfortunately, the green beans were starting to rot. I went thru each one of a huge bag and luckily had enough to eat for two. Then I roasted the fish in the oven. They came out yummo! Luv when it comes together!

Then rest I tried to watch some tv. There is not much I can get into and most stations get lost.

Anyhow thanks for stopping by. Luv yas

Oh, happy birthday to all my June buds! I can’t believe how many friends I have that have a birthday in June! It s over 6! That’s a lot to me!

    Enjoy your life!

  • 6/17 Hersey PA

Okay so I’m ready to move on. Three weeks in the same place is too much in my opinion. I get we are saving money cause the diesel gas is over $6, but I’m bored.

We decided to go to the country store again today. They are having a special sandwich, drink and chips for $3.50. I thought we were going to get lunch but he did not want to get it. But his mom wants canning jar lids so remembered to get those for her.

They are dressed so cute in their hats and long dresses

We did a little shopping and went back to the campground. I can’t believe how fast the corn is growing.

We came back and the weather outside was very hot. While the humidity is not there 90 degrees is still hot!

We didn’t take our walk but this week promises to be in the 70s so maybe we can walk.

Anyhow that’s all for today sorry I didn’t keep Up. I will try to be better at my blog. Stay safe and healthy!

  • 6/18/23 Lebanon PA

I am ready to move on. I think 2 weeks in a place is long enough. It’s not like we haven’t been here before.

Today, I decided to do my exercises and take a shower. By the time I was ready for breakfast, it was nearly noon. But we had eggs and bacon with a wrap. It was yummo! Somethings just hit the spot!

I started to look at my emails and stuff, and we decided to take a walk with our cat, The weather is perfectly warm with a breeze, not humid

The best part of walking is the kids or even grow ups who are surprised to see a cat in a stroller. When I open the screen, the kids just love him they are all so cute.

We passed all the ducks and geese by the waterways, but the babies are so adorable. The moms are so protective.

We got back and decided to have a snack of crackers and hummus. We also had some long Island ice tea. We got a huge bottle at the Amish store for $2.49. We are sure they had no idea what they were selling!

It was dinner time, and I didn’t take anything out from the freezer, but plan B frozen pizza! It was called broccoli crust pizza. Nope, don’t try it. There was no taste.

Well, that was my day, not very exciting, but the walk was nice.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you got a smile, stay healthy, and enjoy!

  • 6/19&20/22 Hersey PA

Well the weather was so nice. It is warm but the breeze is cool. It turns out Ghost wanted to go for a walk. We took out his carriage and went for a long walk.

We met a bunch of young kids. They are so cute when they come by to pet him. He is so cute with them. Then when the kids have blue eyes like Ghost they are so amazed. How cute!

Well we came back from our walk and put the cat inside with the RV. We are finally leaving day after tomorrow.

We then went to the country store and picked out a few things. They were selling sandwiches, drink and chips for $3.50. We don’t eat sandwiches so we passed but there was a good line.

I finally got a picture of the colorful chairs sitting out of this hardware store. They are so nice looking but we no place to them.

We came back put the groceries away. It was dinner time. Oh were the geese out when we came back.

I am ready to move on from this place. It is nice but three weeks for me is too long. We are headed back to Gettysburg. It is going to be crowded because of the 4th of July.

Then it was dinner time. I made a salad with this huge ham that we had which included the bone! Wow, what a pain in the butt to get the bone out! Then cut away all the freakin fat!

I used some of it for ham with salad for dinner. It was pretty good. It was one of those that you put everything from the frig into the salad and top it it with ham!

Then I watch TV. But I’m trying to read a book I really don’t like.

6/20. It is not a big day to write about I put away recipes that got lost in the correct place. We had waffles for breakfast. I had to put the entire recipe process away, folders and the table as well. Not an easy task. However, they are all in categories. Only pasta and the desert categories needs to be put on paper. I know your thinking that’s nuts. I agree.

But, I think I want to try a puzzle. I brought some with me so it will be fun. Not something I am use to doing. It’s a challenge.

Well it is not far to Gettysburg so tomorrow we leave. Thanks as always for stopping to by.

I need to put everything away inside. I would send a picture but it looks like I dumped the entire house upside down and left it. But, I know where everything belongs and we will move along just fine!

    Thanks for stopping by.

  • 6/2/22. Hersey PA

I didn’t want to get up so I laid in bed an read for awhile and my cat rolled up next to me! Perrrfect!

I decided to take a shower. I think it’s not bad if my slashed arm gets a little wet. The scar is healing. I have a bump on the ends. But I washed my hair and rinsed it. Washed my body then add conditioner. Then rinsed my body and conditioner. I patted my hair dry not to hard it’s thin. But then after I got dressed I just used my hands to fluff and put it in some direction. Some of my curls are coming back! It wants to be left alone! I’m good with that!

We had breakfast but we used bread from an outlet pepper ridge farm outlet. It was on the counter for a $1.00! It’s jewish rye what could be wrong? He opens it and it is very soft and very white? Really? Rye has a hard crust and is brown. He used it to make French toast! It was very good and smelled and tasted like rye! Who new?

We needed bananas! Back to the country store! The prices are crazy! I got a huge red leaf lettuce 1.99. A bag of garden fresh green beans .58cents, bok Choy .79 cents, bag of baby carrots .99 cents need I go on? I would be broke if I lived near this store!

I put away all the things, I am good at this I manage to always find a space! Well we decide to take ghost for a ride in his buggy. He was all for it! The place is fairly crowded now. The weather is great about 80 not humid!

Ghost in his buggy on a walk! He loves it!

We walk most of the way. I didn’t change to sneakers. I had my nice sketchers. But, when the road has lots of gravel the pain goes up to my hip. On flat clean roads I do better. But what can I expect from a campground.

We got back only two little sisters came to pet him. Oh and this adorable boy who was working on something in the back of a truck. He stopped and told us we have a pretty cat. We let him pet ghost. He said thank you. maybe he didn’t grow up here, he was so polite.

Well I’ve been telling you we are glamping but what does that mean? Here is a picture of one side.

It’s a fifth wheel sanibel( we call her Sani for short)

We had Kentucky mules before dinner! Boy are they delicious! Dinner was a few different leftovers and a salad.

Well I did one of those have to things like check bills and acct make sure things are good. No catastrophe…..yet!

Well again thanks soooo much for stopping by. I had 184 visits!I am so very impressed. I hope it brought a smile at some point. Have a good night I’m watching American warrior!

  • 6/20&21/22 Hersey to Gettysburg PA

This day I was waiting for because it was finally time to leave! Not that I don’t love this campground but 3 weeks for me is a push!

After breakfast I pack everything away with no issues or problems we were able to leave by 11:30am. The cats were so unsettled and one threw up in the back. The other was meowing and was scared.

We drove thru Hersey. They have such beautiful hanging flower baskets along the street.

Then when you get to town the street lights are Hersey kisses. They are brown for chocolate then silver with the paper to tear it open. I think those are new. I don’t remember them. There is also a little Hersey flag.

I also like to look at the different houses. There are some that are old and have been kept up. I like the red brick houses.

They seem so majestic and large. But, of course there are also the line of houses right next to each other right in town. I wonder how they live.

We finally got near Gettysburg the ride was not long. There were no homes and it’s nice to see big trees instead of palm trees.

We already got our reservation so we got into our spot with no issues. We set up everything in the RV. It’s a nice spot with sun and shade.

I made sausages with cooked onions, peppers and mushrooms. Turned out pretty good. I watched some TV but fell asleep.

    It’s now 6/21/22 in Gettysburg!

The weather report since I woke up at 4:30am was rain storms off and on from 3pm. When I got up later El said rain at 4pm. I disagreed. Since the prediction was rain and it’s not a weekend it’s a good day for laundry.

We got to the laundry and put everything in. We walked back to get our rain coats. We came back and things were going good so we decided to take a walk. Well at three the heavens opened up. Lucky we had our raincoats. Thunder the entire package. We finally got the the outdoor area with a cover. We waited a awhile then left and walked to the store. The rain continued we walked back to the laundromat. The clothes were done and I folded everything in a bag and we went to put it in the truck and the heavens opened again. We get to our RV it stops. Great let’s run to the RV just as we went to open the door it poured. Our dried laundry got damp.

I am hoping my meds get delivered to me here. Well I hope you enjoy your summer. Thanks again for stopping by.

  • 6/22 Gettysburg PA

It still isn’t nice outside, and it’s chilly in the RV. I got this swirled rye bread at the Amish store, yummo! I made toast with avocado and had it with my scrambled eggs. Delicious!

Well, he promised me we would go to Walmart to fix my glasses my ear hurts from the pressure. I also got a horrible stabbing pain in my right foot when I woke up. Scarey, I think my lower back may be braking up from surgery nearly 20 years ago. I hope not.

After breakfast, we got in the truck and drove to this gigantic shopping area in Hanover, PA. For example, for food alone, there was giant, Aldis, and walmart. Animal food, pet, smart, and Petco. Restaurants there were over 2 dozen. It was pretty crazy. The lady in the optical store looked at my glasses and immediately took them and knew what to do. They are fine now.

On the way back, we saw some homes that are so typical of these towns I had to take some pictures.

It is hard to get the extensions in the back and all the electric meters for how many people or families live in one house. It is another way of surviving.

The ride was therefore interesting something new. It is so cold and raining. We stopped at a beer joint on the way back, and it was gigantic. They had every flavor you could think of in cans and bottles. We stuck to our favorite, Guinness for me, and Corolla for him. We got a chocolate frozen drink with booze. We shared the frozen drink on the way back. It was delicious.

We got back, and we had bought a rib eye roast that looked so good for dinner. However, every recipe interestingly said the same exact things. Marinate overnight, same ingredients, then cook 450 for 15 min and 325 for 65 minutes. So I marinated it, put in frig and took out the salmon I defrosted in the morning.

The salmon was great, wild caught. Put some mustard on it. Then some spices, then mix some butter and panko, put that on it, then slices of lemon on top. Cook 425 for 12 minutes and yummo!

Well, it’s actually late going on 9:30pm. I want to clean up and get ready to get in bed and read or watch some TV, depending on how I feel when I get in.

Here’s hoping tomorrow will be a brighter day, it’s June. Although I do feel bad for those in Texas who are literally broiling.

Well, once again, it’s summer, so thank you for stopping by. I so appreciate it. Stay safe and healthy, and enjoy!

  • 6/23/22 Gettysburg, PA

OMG the rain was awful and so loud and pounding! It’s like taking two metal pans and continually smacking them together over your head!

The night was awful I’m not sure I slept. I don’t remember the day! .When the rain stopped for a few seconds we decided to take a walk. We felt bad for the campers behind us they were in tents! I can’t imagine how awful that must have been. When we got out they were all gone. Who knows when they left, maybe even during the night!

We spoke to this man who was from Rockville, MD. He had a fairly new RV. He said he was miserable that there is so much wrong. The water system wasnt even connected for starters. The conversation continued and I wanted to go. El is a walking encyclopedia of RVs so don’t get him started. Finally we moved on. It was surprising to see all the smaller RVs in here. I counted in one row 26! That is amazing. We heard a lot of folks bought RVs during the Covid. I guess it is so!

Dinner time. I decided we had some cauliflower left over with chick peas and a curry sauce. So I decided to cook the other cauliflower to add to it for a dinner. I cooked it differently like roasted it in the oven with some spices.

Then I made snap peas! Have you made them? I am not familiar and so breaking off the top in a certain way so the string comes off must be an acquired skill! I got it 50% of the time. But I put some sauce like soy and sesame oil and microwaved! Came out good!

After clean up I watched some tv. I’m not paying attention cause I want to get thru the appetizers for my cookbook. I am close to finishing it.

I went to bed. Thank goodness it’s not raining another night would make me nuts. Not to mention my cats are not happy with it either. On the bed off the bed on the bed off the bed…you get the routine!

    Thanks for stopping by.

    6/24/22 Gettysburg

I slept pretty well but it’s still grey outside but I hear no rain. I read my book. It’s okay. When I got up I needed to do my exercises, then take a shower.

By the time I was done with reading, exercising, showering, checking texts and email. It was after noon before we sat down to breakfast! Where does the day go?

We decided to go to Giant. It’s not the same as the one in MD. It’s more like a Whole Foods. OMG the prices! I’ve been so shaded by the country store where my bill was around 30 ish every time.

I don’t recall everything we bought today but the bill for a few things was $74.00! How outrageous! I miss my country store😒

By the time we got back and put everything away we decided we need to take a walk. However, we got mamama from our cat! He wants to come. We got his stroller and off we go.

Again there was a hard sided RV if it was 10 feet it was alot. What fits in that a bed? Amazing I will get a picture if it’s still there.

When we got back from the store I had to put my basil in some dirt and a new pot. It costs the same price to by store wrap and a plant. Might as well get a plant! Right?

Well, now it is dinner time. I took out chicken thighs skin on and bone in! Yup, I have the recipes for this one! I pick a recipe. I put a combination of spices and oil on the chicken, sliced broccoli, and little potatoes in half. Arrange on a baking sheet and in the oven for 30 mins. Everything came out yummo! It’s rare we eat skin. Honestly I cut half of it off! But, sometimes you have to break the rules!

Like that cake I was eating and gained 7lbs! Outrageous! I finally threw it out and have lost three so far!

Well I’m watching TV ninja warrior! It’s fun to watch. I thought my son who is into martial arts could do this course.

Well I am praying for my friend. . He has gone in hospice which may lead to the final step. It is a hard one to cope. I have done it and friends and family are so key.

Once again I’m grateful for those who stick by and read my blog.

  • 6/25 Saturday Gettysburg

Oh no we wake and realize we don’t have the white fish we bought yesterday or the avocados or the sweet potato! Help!

Check the receipt and we bought them yesterday at the Giant! El calls the store. They were so nice and said yes the products we mentioned were there and we can come and get them! WheeeWhat a relief!

So I get dressed brush and wash, throw clothes on and get in the truck! We drive to the store. We pick out the things we left. We haven’t been shopping this early. The bakery puts all the daily left overs on a clearance rack! While it’s half gone already they had a dozen bagels for $3.75! And these delicious looking muffins. The six pack was gone went I brought him over but there were doubles.. sold!

We went to customer service and they were so nice just gave us what we found for replacements. We drove back seems like the town is busy this weekend. I think next weekend , July 4th will be worse.

Came back to the RV we noticed that at least 30 sites are still available surprising. The size of the RVs are crazy how small.

I got a picture of the guns at the battlefield

Then I got a picture of some brick homes they are so well kept up.

We came back and leisurely had French toast for breakfast! Now that our fish is save in the freezer we can relax.

I put everything away looked for the cats and one was sleeping in his new home so cute!

Well I can relax so I take my stuff to sit outside in the sun. I lasted 2o minutes and all my devices were crashing in the heat. Really? I had to bring them inside!

Then I decided to feed and water my drooping plants.

Can you guess what they are? The front is a pepper plant! To the back right is the basil and the back left is tomato! I enjoy having a little garden when we go Glamping!

Well I came inside and since all my devices were not working I did a suduko puzzle and it’s hard and I figured it out! I’m so proud! Ok so it doesn’t take much!

No it’s late and I need to do dinner. I have ground turkey out. So I pull my turkey recipes. I didn’t want to make the obvious….burgers! So I made meatballs in romanesco sauce. I added my own touches and cooked it differently and it came out great! I didn’t brown the meat in the skillet they went directly into the oven to broil! Yummo!

I’m relaxing now cleaned up and watching TV. I am watching fear factor! It’s nuts the contestants eat bugs, jump off buildings, go thru challenging courses. Crazy!

Well once again I know my other vacations are more forthcoming with new and different. Still I hope something brought a smile! Thank you for stopping by! Stay cool!

    It’s freakin hot here!

  • 6/26 & 27 Sunday and Monday Gettysburg

I will try to recreate yesterday. I am so sorry I didn’t write my blog. I’ve discussed with myself no bed before my blog! I get no respect!

I remember waking to the cats meow like MA! In your ear it wakes you up. It’s raining still? So I went back to bed and read my book. It was different. I haven’t read one I love in a long time. It’s me isn’t it?

Anyhow, get up and have and egg omelette! I’m excited because a couple is coming to visit. I wish they would move to Florida. We luv them. I took a shower and got dress with nice cloths, and of course jewelry! Ha

We made plans for when they come. Put the table top on with seat covers. Then we get the call! She is sick! Oh no! I was so looking forward to their visit. We couldn’t remember if they saw the glamping RV.

Well I took out Salmon because it will defrost faster than others things. The rain stopped and sun is out. I sat in the sun. I couldn’t last more than 23 mins. That’s crazy but the sun was so very hot.

I started on my recipes. Pasting them on white sheets. I should finish this huge folder soon.

Well thanks for stopping by. Stay healthy I feel bad my friend couldn’t come.

  • 6/27/23 Tuesday Gettysburg PA

I woke up and did my chores and decided to have a little bit of fruit so I could take my morning meds. By the time I dressed and came down for fruit, it was nearly 11 am.

I was excited because one of my life-long best friends was meeting me for brunch. She showed at 11:30 and we went off in her alpha Romeo not sure of the spelling but what a car!

I spent a lot of time looking for a place but we have eaten in all the best ones. So we drove up the main street, no parking except handicapped. Argh! I meant to grab my window hanger.

We ended up at Lincolns diner above the circle we found parking. It was sooo great to see her. You know when you have a friend forever and no matter how long it’s been you meet and it’s like yesterday! That’s what this was like meeting an old friend. I miss her. But we ordered breakfast. I had a Greek omlette, and she had French toast. We sat and caught up.

Then she left. I wasn’t sure what to do. I watered my plants. I went inside and looked at the emails and read my book, Drank some Port I do like that drink.

It was dinner time, and I made salads with leftover ham. I put the kitchen sink in the salad.

The day was done and I’m tired but so glad I had the chance to see my good friend. We have known each other for nearly 50 years! Boy, did I feel old.

Well, thanks for stopping by for me it was a great day. I hope you had a great day, too. Stay healthy and enjoy!

  • 6/29/22 we’d Gettysburg

I had a good nights sleep. But, I woke up and didn’t want to exercise. It’s easy to talk yourself out. But, then you know if you skip it you will do it again! So after I had this ten minute fight with myself I did my exercises.

We stopped at Sams for gas it was cheaper than PA. We went inside I wanted to by an outdoor recliner that folds. They had them on line. But, NO they had them only for the university of Maryland on the chair. I was so disappointed ☹️

Well I gained a lb from yesterday! It’s awful! I figured from now until we leave here Tuesday it will be like eating on a cruise! I have eating plans for most of the days. I also noticed I have indigestion. am I getting to old to enjoy what I want! I have to take a tums again!

Well today we had waffles for breakfast. We didn’t hang around cause we are meeting our great friends at golden coral. I don’t like them cause you can eat until you bust! They had good ribs. And good pulled pork. But don’t forget the desserts! There is now clearly another lb. But, it was so good to see our friends. I wish they would move to Florida! We had a great time!

When we left we asked if the campground had a package delivered to me. The store was closed today. I checked the ups records and one indicated delivered the other lost! Now I was concerned cause I am getting low on my meds. I was lucky they called the office and my meds were delivered, yippee!

When we were at Sams we bought wild Alaskan salmon. Looked really good. When we got it home to the RV, I had to cut it into portions and wrap them for the freezer. We put the big wrapper on the cats crunchies container for the garbage. Our black cat, who hasn’t been eating found the package.

He loved every morsel he could find.

Well it’s getting late. Once again I am feeling indigestion. What a shame I can’t just stuff my face anymore☹️. Not that I haven’t had my days!

Beautiful day no clouds mountains in background life is good!

Thanks for stopping by hope you had a smile! Stay healthy!

  • 6/30 Friday and 7/1 Saturday Gettysburg PA

I will start with yesterday. It was a fun day and very busy. I didn’t even know the plan, but I was good to go. I ate a leftover Greek omlette with feta cheese. It was very good. Left over from when I went out with my friend to the Lincon diner.

We then cleaned up and went to the outlets. Oh, I was so surprised delightfully so! It was sad, though, because of all the stores that are left blank. But, that said, I went to Eddie Bauer and couldn’t find something I must have. So I went to Columbia and boy was I lucky. I found two capris, one was like regular tights in navy blue. The other was light grey jeans but not as tight fitting. They both fit a bit tight, but I will lose this added fatness! We went to other stores, not many.

Then we went to the pepperidge farm outlet. Crap, the stuff is so cheap you can’t help but buy a bag of cookies for $2.00! And if you hit $20.00 you get a 20% discount.

We went to verizon because our Jetpack, the gizmo that provides the internet, is weak. We discussed getting something new. They didn’t have it in stock. But they ordered it and it should be there before we leave, hopefully!

I was happy, pants and cookies! I’m set. Then we drive to walmart. We need to get a pole like thing to hold up my tomato plants. That was quick and easy a man showed us where they were, and we got them and left the store.

Nope, not finished! We stopped at Giant, which wasn’t crowded at all. You would think the holiday would have people buying hamburgers and such. We went for corn, luv good corn on the cob!

We also stopped at CVS to get a prescription picked up.

Whew that’s a busy day! We drove back thru town. Now you know it’s a holiday the streets and restaurants are all filled with people.

Then I was too tired to do anything.

We got back and brought in our stuff unload the day. Now I’m tired but it was fun. Dinner? Oh yes, well lucky for me there were leftovers in the frig. We had left over cauliflower casserole and Chinese food. I am done for todY good-night!

Then today 7/1 its July summer time. The weather has been crummy for days. Haze or rain, pick!

But, at least my new ears came in. I got one to work right away. The other i had to call. But, got it working. It will take some time getting use to them.

Then I had to take care of business.. OH, it was awful getting Caremark, BC/BS prescription mail away service to change a shipping address. I still don’t know if I will get it. I had to go thru the phone talk, then three divisions, and the last one, i waited over 20 minutes on hold.

Then, I had to figure out if Bill pay works for the new condo. That, too, has issues, but I have to wait until Monday and hope they didn’t take vacations.

We had steak and corn with salad for dinner. Big yummo! The steak was cooked just right I like it on the rare side.

I have to control my desert. I took a piece of chocolate bark. I can eat the entire bag. I made coffee and sat to write my blog. It’s already 9:30 where did the day go?

Thank you so very much for stopping by! I so appreciate it. ☺️

Take care and stay healthy and enjoy!

  • 6/30/22 Gettysburg

I woke up we have no specific plans so I decide i would take a shower. I took my plants outside the sun is powerful. I added some water the pepper plant was a bit droopy. I am hoping I get flowers the tomato plant looks like there are finally flowers.

We get ready to have breakfast.

I enjoy going to the outlets they are so close. They are the next exit off the hywy. We went and was surprised at the empty parking lot. Not to mention the many stores that closed down!

We went in several stores who are giving away these heavy duty winter coats. Nice but we don’t need them thank goodness! But, we went into some biggies like Eddie Bauer or Columbia and they didn’t have any bargains like we are used to seeing. We went to a Chico’s I got a nice long sleeve shirt. Size 1….very weird sizing. But it was $15.00 and originally it was $59.00. Not bad?

We went into Vera Bradley I have never been to that store. I was surprised how many things they make with the their fabric. I got a little crossbody bag. It was 60 %off!

Other than that we stopped in Pepperidge farm. They were giving away 20% if you spent $20. But, the prices were so good it was hard to get to $20. So many things were $1.00.

Well we walked around and came to a hard cider bar. we both took a flight which were 4 small glasses each. We drank half and traded so we tried all 8 varieties. I liked this strawberry and rhubarb. It smelled like strawberries and tasted like it. The other was called breakfast. This one had a hint of coffee in the flavor. It was nice talking with the owner. We were just about the only customer. Bottom line, I will take moonshine over the cider and top the both with Bourbon!

We came back to the RV. I started by giving all my power to the remaining scotch taping recipes. Yippee! I’m done! For now! There are other strays around but the majority is finished!

It is such a good feeling. Now I have to put them each in plastic protectors and then into a notebook! Wow!

I didn’t think of dinner. I just went to the frig and grabbed the containers in the frig and heated them up for dinner. It worked there were 8 containers, pork, chicken, potatoes, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, rice vermicelli you get the idea! We almost finished it!

Well I am looking forward to see a very dear friend tomorrow. We get together every time I come up here. It’s like someone you haven’t seen in awhile then get together and it’s like you never left? Does that make sense. Those are the life time friends you don’t forget and love forever.

Well done with dinner and I’m tired. I am watching finish the lyrics. It’s fun to watch.

Sorry I didn’t take pictures today. I forgot didn’t even get our friends picture! It was so getting together with them yesterday.mLuv them too!

Well that’s my day. Hope you had a good one. Oh when we had our cider flights she confirmed the fireworks are a go! Go figure? We heard yes and no!

Well enjoy your weekend it’s a holiday so be safe. Thanks for stopping by.

  • 6/4/22 Hersey PA

I have to admit this day requires no write up, there is nothing to write about.

Ever have a day where you just didn’t do much? This was my day I just didn’t feel like it. We had breakfast and I just started looking at my 213 emails. It was torture to get thru them. In fact I still have 53 and just couldn’t continue.

I found a least one fire but it has to be put out on Monday!

Then I started to put my recipes to paper. Yes, it is tedious no doubt. I even do a quick review cause when I start to see the ingredients and how to cook it, I say what No. I think when I was younger I would try lots of stuff. Now, I no longer go overboard.

So I got thru the letter A and started B. A has three Veggies, B has so far 3 done and 3 to go. no you guess! I am surprised as well! I will reveal tomorrow😆

El was outside all day. Fixing something on the roof which drove me and the cats crazy. Then he was talking to neighbors RV stuff. That’s fine he is a walking encyclopedia on RVs.

I made dinner late. We had a baked pork tenderloin with green beans and corn on the cob. I took out asparagus but it was slimy yuck! In the garbage.

I read my book for a while. It’s not the best but I’m sticking with it.

After dinner I tried to watch some TV but I lost interest.

Thanks for stopping by as always, it’s truly an honor for me. Enjoy your weekend!

  • 6/5/22 Sunday Hersey PA

I wanted to sleep late. But, no my cat licks me at 5:10am. I go to the bathroom and push him away. I go back to sleep, but 7:10am I get maaaa , my white cat speaks cat. The other one pokes me. I couldn’t go back to sleep so I read my book. The cats were hungry and I knew El would be up soon.

I did my exercises it takes about 25 mins to get thru the set. But, as much as I try my hip still hurts. So I wonder what’s the point but I keep going.

I dressed thinking I want to take a long walk. We had bagels for breakfast, with smoked trout with tomato, avacado, onion , cheese, and tomato. I like the smoked white fish better!

Then I got involved with my emails. I had over 200! So for the past Two days I worked hard at looking at most deleting others. I finally got it to 32. Yippee!

Then I tackled Facebook the number was ridiculous. But, the good news is I got thru most of them. It took a while. So if you have something on there I saw it. Most are nice photos or saying which are a mouthful!

Then I decide It is time for the walk. Its a nice place to walk with a few small hills. There are so many RVs to look at along the way. As we were leaving our cat woke up and wanted to come along. So we got out the stroller and brought him along.

There were groups of ducks everywhere. We passed this lady and she screamed when we were walking by. She never saw a cat in a stroller so we had to stop and show her our cat.

We continued along our path, avoid the pool with the kids and return. I had some time so I got some more veggies on paper. Still in b.

Dinner time, I was fortunate that chicken is all separated into categories so it was easy to find chicken thighs cut up recipes. I picked an Indian recipe with gram Marsala, garlic, onion, hot spice and coconut milk and peas! Yummo!

So it’s time to relax watch tv we are watching fear fact! It’s pretty gross what they have to eat!

Hope your enjoying your days. Thanks for stopping by.

  • 6/6/22 Monday Hersey PA

I woke early and read my book until it was finished. It was a travel log. A man and woman drove a motorcycle thru PAH. it was interesting.

We decided to drive to Lebanon and go to the Giant and ALDIs super markets. It was an interesting drive. The houses are so nicely manicured from the little brick house to the ornate roof big houses.

A small brick house on the Main Street
A big 3 story old brick house on the corner

We passed many farms from the most elaborate to the small one with the cows in the field. Lots of room in between the farms.

A Hersey farm so big I can’t fit it one shot!
    Cows in the field

I like this ALDIs cause they have things I wouldn’t know what to do with like a huge aloe Vera cactus leaf, or this orange thing with spines all around. All is done in a nice display. We got some ground beef and chicken. We have some at home but I forgot to take it.

We went to Giant and that store is nice too. Their bagels are so yummo and are big with seeds on them. We get near home and El says we could stop at our discount store. it’s alway dangerous to go in there just because your near! We didn’t get much they had some veggies for sale.

Well we decided that was enough when I noticed the bill should have been $33.00 and was $66.00 went back in. It turns out the can of beans foe .49 cents was charged 69 times! We went back in and got our refund.

I put away all the products and other stuff. I always manage to find room. It was after 6pm. Luckily, we had leftovers! So I heated them up and we had dinner.

Then I continued with my recipes and put them on white paper, it was the last B. Now I am writing my blog and watching Storage wars. Pretty crazy people bid on storage units without going in.

Well I’m getting tired. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a grand day. The weather here has been beautiful. Hope it stays.

    Stay healthy and safe.

  • 6/7/22 Tuesday

I feel I must put something in my blog! It was a boring day that came and went and I did nothing.

I looked back upon the day. I didn’t put my plants outside because it promised rain. I didn’t go out because of the rain.

I had eggs for breakfast with an English muffin and some fruit and avocado for my toast with coffee!

I sat at my table and fumbled thru one of the group recipes I had which was cauliflower. I separated them by cooking method like oven, skillet or boil. When I see cream in a recipe I throw it away. Or if gets to complicated with too many ingredients.

We had so sauerkraut soup. So yummo! His mom makes it and gives it to us when we visit. We will be back in MD at the end of the month. We have to watch our miles gas has gone up to $6.00.

My cats were so cute today. Here’s my boy sleeping

We bought some cooked chicken legs yesterday. So I shredded the chicken and made a kitchen salad for dinner. Ever make those? You throw everything you have in the frig in the salad. That was dinner.

    Other glamping cat with thumb

You can just make out his thumb! He uses it to scoop up crunches!

Anyhow I watched americas got talent. I wasn’t into it. You know how days are like that it doesn’t matter.

Well I wish you a good night. Thanks for stopping by.

  • 6/8 we’d Hershey PA

It’s another day and quiet. We don’t hear kids yelling and folks drinking and being loud. So I like it here.

I did my exercises and took a shower. I’m thinking my scar has healed enough I don’t have to baby it.

I had breakfast and started to work on my recipes. Green beans today. I couldn’t believe how many recipes there were it’s crazy. The whole thing is crazy. After awhile of working on it I had to quit. I needed to go for a walk.

So I get my bottle of water and phone and sneakers and off we go. We can go further cats are sleeping. It’s another pretty day. I enjoy seeing all the different RVs. There are a bunch of little ones. We hear in the news now people can’t afford a new house or mortgage so they are buying RVs to full time! I’m not sure I could do it. But never say never!

We walked around the tent area. A huge RV was up there and a couple of tents. We walked around the big pond and witnessed about 20 ducks go for a swim.

    Ducks swimming

Everyone is friendly and says hi or waves. It’s nice.

We came back I’m hoping these walks help my hip. Well we had gin and tonics, a before dinner drink. Then I made dinner. It’s fun when my book of recipes are organized like fish. I looked up salmon fillets skin on skillet! I made salmon with lemon, garlic, sundried tomatoes sauce, with broccoli and couscous! With wine but of course!

    Salmon dinner

After dinner I went and worked on m for mushrooms but I didn’t read them and got fed up so I packed it up for the night.

Now I’m watching Chicago med. I have been watching and following this for a while.

Well I hope you all had a good day. Stay safe and healthy. Oh, and thanks for stopping by.

  • 7/11 same place

It s my sons birthday hard to believe he is 40. I feel so old. He has gone thru so much; 3 kidney transplants, the last one was mine and still working 17 yrs later! Then he got kidney cancer and had it removed and old transplant. They don’t take out the dead ones. It was his dads. He gets diabetes and is off the scale with danger and won’t take the insulin. Makes my stomach hurt. I pray he changes his mind before it’s too late.

Moving on! It’s laundry day. They put in new machines so you swipe your credit card and puff your done. Then I waited in the lounge. It’s dated but nice. I tried for 2 hours including drying time for my clothes; to down load my pictures. I got only two.

The two pictures are of different homes I love seeing when I travel. I don’t recall where they were but one has a tower on the side one is stone.

I hate the internet service as well as Verizon jet pack. The service sucks! I’m screaming did you hear it!

I put away my recipes finally. I need to add dividers and a couple of index information sheet. But I hit done.

So I opened a puzzle! A painting. Crap I haven’t done one since I was younger than now. These tiny pieces look all the same, ok it’s a patience test. So after a few hours I separated the colors. Even got a couple together moving right along.

Dinner I made spinach ravioli and served with my tomato sauce yummo!

Well that’s it for today. I’m trying to keep my mind busy. I spoke to my son before going to bed wished him happy BD. I had to cry when I hung up. It’s so sad.

    Well thanks for stopping by.

  • 7/13 stroudsburg

Crazy day! Our black cat refuses to eat! It’s been at least a week and it’s awful. So we broke down and took him to an emergency hospital. $200 to walk in the door!

After poking, feeling, looking here and there they took him away and gave him shots and took bloods. We left $500.00 later. We will hear Friday!

We got him home and it took awhile but he did eat a little dinner. He has lost 3lbs but when you were 10ths that’s a lot!

Needless to say dinner wasn’t a concern. I made leftover spinach ravioli.

The ride to the vet was nice but I was holding Stormy so I couldn’t take pictures.

But I’m so pissed at the internet. I can’t get it to load previous blogs.

I don’t remember the past two days. Since I can’t get internet I didn’t write my blog. Sorry to myself and those who follow. The cat and my son has me off normal.

Thanks for reading this if you can only get it. I want out of here the internet sucks!

  • 7/15 stroudsburg PA

I haven’t written my blog because I can not get on the internet. It is so frustrating that I can’t stand it. Everyday I scream at the iPad. Oh you heard me! So sorry.

Today was good and bad. I heard from sister in law. She good at getting in touch. I suck. I’m not a phone person. I can email and write text but call. I guess my hearing aids is part of it.

Then are you sitting? I spoke for a long while to my son in WA! We spoke for a good while. About everything and nothing just talked and it felt so wonderful. I’m happy about that!

The Dr. For my cat took the day off. So no other Dr. Can take his place unless we come in! The nerve! No other Dr. Can tell us the test results. I’m angry. He will be back tomorrow I believe. Argh!

I got two pictures added did you see them? When I get out of here I will forward a lot more. I will be careful not to send more than 3😆😁

I worked on my puzzle today. It does take time but I’m enjoying it. The weather is wonderful. I am inside doing a puzzle. What’s wrong with this picture!

It was dinner time we grilled a huge steak. I added a salad and lentils. Oh I forgot to add I hit a 5lb loss in 2 weeks! I’m happy!

So thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying your summer. July is half gone already!

I want to go to Indiana so I can by Gin. Theres an amazing store there. It has a great liquor dept. so many choices!

Then I want to hit TN. Where else do you get bourbon! I have ginger beer but can only drink it with bourbon!

Anyhow as always thanks so much for sticking in there with me!

  • 7/17/22 stroudsburg,pa

My frustration is crazy! I can’t get internet this a rare moment hopefully I can a few paragraphs. A phone call has to be taken outside upside down on top of the hill…no just kidding but outside.

Yesterday we went to price chopper the grocery story. The prices are high. So we search for sales. We got haddack, wild caught for $10.99 and we got a big chicken for $1.99/lb. Everything else was at least $9 or $10/per lb. It’s scary. Corn on the cob $.60 ea! They should be .10ea. So we got what was on our list or less and left.

Then we went to odd lot! My tomato plant is growing crazy and has little tomatoes! I had to get a bigger pot, and saucer and dirt. They didn’t have dirt so we stopped at a nursery. Oh! My a real nursery. It went on forever and the fountains were beautiful and I wanted a red cardinal that flies with the wind. $50. I should have got it. But the trees and plants they had everything including a big of dirt with food for $20, not cheap!

Then we went to the pharmacy CVS I needed one of my vitamins. It was pretty big. Then back to the camp ground. So all that was the day.

I am struggling with my black cat. He is 10yrs and won’t eat. The vet said his liver values are up. He needs a sonogram $800! Then we did the research he will need IV feeding for about a week until he eats on his own. What’s that $500 to $1,000 a day? I am torn what to do? What would you do?

Well I’m reading another book about English history. I so enjoy those but I admit my mind doesn’t remember all of it like when I was much younger.

Well I have some other things to look at and I don’t want to loose the internet.

Remember I told you I saw a deer with horns but bent his head behind a tree just as I took the picture?😕

I was lucky to get one picture down loaded!

thanks as always for reading my blog! We have one more week of frustration here. Maybe more with my cat we will see. I am torn what to do😣

  • 7/19 & 20 stroudsburg,PA

I think I missed a day maybe the 18th it poured raining all day! Really all day storms, thunder rain pounding. It is not worth writing about.

Oh yes, We bought a big whole chicken I think I mentioned it. Well since I was bored I decided to make this 8lb bird. So I rubbed on butter then made a spice rub, if I recall it had poultry spice, sweet paprika. But then I put lemon in the middle. Then a little sesame oil. Cooked it in the convection oven. 1 hour on 375, then I flipped it at 350 for another hour.

While it cooked I cooked spices together with onion, mushrooms, some ginger and garlic sautéed. Put in lemon and oil.

Then took the chicken out let it rest and put the sauce yummo! I made farro and snap peas!

7/19. We got up I exercised wasn’t sure if we were doing anything and then he said let’s go to the mall. We are talking the outlet mall in tannersville. It’s enormous! It has over 100 stores. We walked and looked and looked and looked in and out of many, many stores.

Well I’m so disappointed I got zero, zip, nothing!😫😞! I have never gone to an outlet and got nothing! Honestly, I tried but most stores were showing winter sweaters and coats. Very nice deals! Do I need this no. Then the clothes were more on the fancy side or going to work stuff. I have enough of that in my cruise closet! The summer stuff weren’t items I have to have that and they weren’t cheap either.

He at least got slippers. I think I’m sad about my son with diabetes and doesn’t take insulin and my cat who doesn’t eat. We tried to get a scan but there were no openings till next week and we will be gone to Ohio. I guess we will try there. If he makes it.🥲

I made sautéed haddock in a lemon butter wine and garlic sauce. Yummo again! I love when the recipes come together!

So now we are up to today the 7/20. It is very hot outside. My shorts were hot from being on the shelf next to the outside. Funny, as hot as the sun is, it is still not Florida. The sun is hot but the humidity is not there. What a difference you don’t melt when you walk out.

So I did my puzzle. They are frustrating and require you to chill out and be patient. I’m learning these skills. I take breaks, lots. But it is very slowly pieces are fitting together.

The I read my book some more and I’m 2/3 done. A good English history book. I’m watching tv. I’m trying to get more pictures, be patient after next week starts I can down load them…I hope!

Well stay safe apparently places in the USA and Europe are roasting. I hope you are not one of them. People who have no air or pool or some water, beach, lake I feel bad for them. Especially in a city!

Thanks for waiting for my blog. As I have complained as I got here the internet sucks. But I’ve gotten to send this blog. Luv yas.

  • 7/19/2023 Emlenton PA

I never heard of it either! It took all day to get here. The drive was so pretty thru the mountains. The views were so pretty. Ghost had a hard time settling down so I had to pet him off and on for over an hour….good kitty.

We finally stopped for gas, and I went and got the sandwiches I made last night. Mine was only a half Rye with turkey and Swiss, lettuce, tomato, home grown, with mustard. It’s good to control the hunger for a 6 hour drive. It was cloudy for the most part, which is good for driving.

We finally pulled into our spot. I went to open the RV my job is inside. But, OMG! Did you hear me scream? The first time in all my years of camping this has never happened. The ride sometimes was over extreme bumps in the road. It caused the RV to jump up and down. Now I know this to be the case and I had a velcro band around the refrigerator doors and a bungee cord thru the doors holding the freezer part. WELL !

The front top doors opened, and the freezer opened not much but enough that a jar of green salsa opened and green slime was EVERYWHERE! He said I should have taken a picture, and I’m so sorry I didn’t. TALK ABOUT A MESS!

Crap, I had to take apart the freezer because while the salsa was all over the frig and floor it ended up in the freezer and dumped it all over everything in the baskets and floor of the freezer. You can’t imagine the horror of cleaning it all up. I managed to get the huge tray out and wash it along with the food bags..each one. Then the floor and the freezer parts and then the intricate cracks and small areas. It took a few hours to complete. I’m so done.

Oh, then I’m reading my book and we stop to go to the bathroom. Instead of moving my book marker to the page I’m on I just closed the book. I had to search thru pages to find where I was. DUMB right!

We had leftovers for dinner. The thought of cooking was out! I just wanted to watch the country music fest on channel 7. We don’t get channel 7! I hate that it happened he did try to get it.

The scenery and the mountains were so pretty. Then, once in a while, you got to see the valley with the farms and houses!

I am beat. It’s time to relax and read my book since I can’t watch country music fest

Thanks for stopping by it is truly appreciated and my hope is somewhere there is a smile! Be safe and stay cool! Enjoy!

  • 7/19/21 East Strasbourg PA

I got up to do my exercises and the cat laid down on my top. I tried to distract him by raising my arm and he jumped clear off the bed and bit my arm. We almost had a dead cat! what the hell was that maneuver!

I did my exercises got dressed and was pissed I gained .2! I’m sick of the number going up! I got to stop it!

I had breakfast and was getting ready to start the day but we have to go out. Why? I can’t find any bandaids! I have neosporin but no bandaids.

We got to our Amish market and find bandaids. The prices on things is this market are ridiculous. I spent $58 dollars and you wouldn’t believe the deals! For example, panko breadcrumbs .49; big thing of Italian olive oil $1.49; hodgekin mills quoina $1.99; it’s just crazy. We came back put away everything. It is a beautiful day we decide to sit outside.

Ah, but my son calls. He is in the er getting prescription refills. His emergency luck kicks in and they order a 3 month supply from our mail away pharmacy. He still needs to find a new Dr. but I’m not going there.

I finally got maybe 20 mins outside. He put a fan out and it was so nice.

I had to come in an put dinner together. It was weird but came out delicious! I had made something with tomatoes. a sauce of some kind and took that out of the frig. Then we had some of the stew I made and took that out. Then I took the ravioli and boiled it. Heated the stew and tomato mixture added a cup of water to thin it and voila dinner!

    Yummo!

Big clean up we used regular dishes instead of paper plates.

I listened to the tv and cut some recipes do you know I had a magazine from 1978! I didn’t believe it either! I tossed a lot out because I don’t make things I can’t pronounce or take more than an hour, and that’s pushing it!

Well in the end it wasn’t a bad day. My inductions are starting to not work right so I ordered a new one. They are both acting very weird. they won’t turn on. Then when they do the heating numbers are very weird and I don’t know what temperature it is cooking at.

Well I hope you had a great day! I had over 8503 folks read my blog and have 112 followers! I’m impressed I don’t know 112 folks who would read it! I feel if it makes you smile even a little it’s worth sharing. Again thanks so much for reading my blog.

  • 7/2 & 3/23 Saturday and Sunday 2023

7/2. It’s not a great day, rather boring, so I didn’t write my blog. Ever have a day where you do nothing and it rather creeps by.

I finally did my exercises, but I had to use 3lb weights. I’ve been reduced to the minimum. But, you have to start somewhere.

We had breakfast, and i took a shower. I did nothing today. I tried not to look at my messages. You need to take a break, every once in a while.

I want to cross this day off.

    7/3

I heard fireworks all night long. My cat is a little nervous. I was hoping we could take my cat on a walk. But, I wanted to scream because the weather report kept saying awful rain thunderstorms hail. But, that was not what happened. It was sun, then it was grey. But, then rain for 15 mins and the sun came back out. So frustrating a day.

I caught up on emails. I get so much crap. Delete Delete Delete. The day also just went, I was so annoyed with the weather. I didn’t know if I should put my plants out or not.

Finally, it was dinner time. We are still doing leftovers. We had leftover sandwhich meat and mussels. Crazy right? But it was fine.

I want to move on. Luckily, we leave Wednesday along with the rest. It will be a pain. But we are going to the Poconos.

I’m sorry these days aren’t interesting. I want to do more but the weather sucks.

I do not know if I mentioned this band we went to hear. The guitar player was amazingly very good. We stayed for the 1st set. More rockn roll not our music. We left and came back.

Well,i I really appreciate you stopping by. I know it’s not great. I wanted to add pictures of my plants, but the weather reports were terrible

I hope you enjoy the fireworks tomorrow. Becareful and Enjoy!

  • 7/2. Sat Gettysburg

Today we had a little breakfast cause my bro in law is coming to visit us. it is sunny outside so I went to sit in the sun. I didn’t last 20 minutes and I was getting burned already. Bottom line it’s hot!

I was watching what was going on around us. People are planning for major company. There are mostly 2 cars or truck and golf carts. BBQs from your basic to the major smoker. Yesterday we thought an RV was on fire the smoke was so consuming.

A lot of the golf carts are decorated with red, white and blue garlands and American flags. I believe there is a parade.

Well my bro in law came and we sat and talked for a while. But, then I was getting hungry and the day promises thunderstorms!

We drove thru town there were people but not like before. There were even parking spots here and there. There are even spots at the campground. This place is usually packed I guess the cost of gas may have caused cancellations. Still plenty we’re visiting I got a picture of the monuments on the battlefield.

We ate at a Chinese place we have been talking about for years. From the outside it looks blah! But, what a surprise. It was very nice clean almost looks new inside! The food lookout! it was so delicious! Yummo!

I ate like a pig. They had everything and it was warm and so good. You name it they had it, even sushi, shrimp in lobster sauce, ribs w/o the bone, clams. An entire row of desserts! There was an ice cream case of all outstanding flavors like raspberry, coffee, choc marshmallow, my favorite!

On the drive back we saw some of the people dressed in costumes.

Well we came back and he had to leave. It was thundering so I thought he will get caught in the storm. He did. It was a horrible thundering storm. Pounded the roof. It didn’t last long but wow! We saw staff driving by with tree limbs that came down.

Well we hear fireworks but you always hear them before the fourth.

Well I sat down to look at my emails amazing how they accumulate after one day! I had 164 emails? I don’t know that many people!

By the time I was thru once which still I had 87 there was no power left. 4%. I was will to write my blog but I would not finish and that would make me nuts!

Well I hope everyone is enjoying the 4th of July weekend. Be safe and stay healthy. And of course thanks for stopping by!

  • 7/20/21 East Strasbourg PA

I woke thinking it will be a good day! Boy was I wrong!

Shortly after I awoke my eye started to flutter. It gets so bad I can’t see right. I think it has happened in May and June once. It lasts about 5-10 mins.

I started a log as my dr requested and I can’t find it! I turned the RV upside down. I don’t know where I put it? I’m so not happy.

Then yesterday I spent quite a bit of time trying to send money to my son thru this Zelle. Ever here of it? I spent a huge amount of time yesterday and find it never went. So today I spent another huge amount of time and it kept returning the money. The theory is good. But, setting it up sucks big time! I have to try again tomorrow!! I am so angry! They dropped the call 5 times, they locked my account. Argh!angry😡😤😱🤬 u get the point!

I had to walk away it was nice outside so I sat outside for a while and did suduko why can’t I get the hard ones! It takes 2 or 3 to get one right! Am I getting too Old?

The day was gone and I so wanted to walk today! We didn’t,have time with all this other stuff.

I made salad and grilled steaks they looked yummo even one of our cats thought so.

We had our steak with Amish corn on the cob from the field it was great!

Well I’m playing with my recipes again cutting them out of magazine pages. Time passes with some wine. All’s good.

I’m watching the Chicago PD. Like all three. I’m tired so I’m going up to bed. Hope I have luck tomorrow with zelle.

As always thanks for stopping by. My other cat went to sleep early. Look how he puts his hand/arm over his eyes so cute!

  • 7/20/23 middle point Ohio

I was awakened at 6:30 am! My heart hasn’t started, but it’s time to get ready to leave. Seriously? So I am moving almost like a robot thru the motions. It is a long day on the road.

There is not much to write about because you’re in the car for hours. The drive took us on route 80 thru PA, then switched to 76 in Akron to 71 and then 30.. The mtns were less, and the huge fields took their place.

Then, while we were on the hywy, we saw a blimp or UFO or Russian spyware. It was weird.

    NOT a plane?

I read my book during most of it. I also follow the map as a guide. I have to get out every couple of hours cause my orthritis starts on my hip and then my nerve in my left leg hurts. Sucks getting older!

We pulled in the campground about 1:30 pm. because we were trying to beat a major rain storm. I made sandwiches, and we settled in to our spot. It just started to drizzle.

However, as time went on, the beep on the TV announced a major thunderstorm, which started naming counties across the TV. Of course, we were in one of the counties listed. I made pizza for dinner. By the time we were eating, the rain became serious, and we could hear the thunder. Pounding the roof is so loud!

Ah, but it finally slowed, and by 9pm its pretty much gone?

Oh, I forgot to add something. We were on the hywy, and the best truck rear end I ever saw went in front of us! it was a wow!

    Is that not the best!

I am tired, and so I’m glad I took the time to write my blog. I hope I brought you a smile. Thanks for stopping by? Stay safe and enjoy!

  • 7/22/23 from Ohio to WAKARUSA INDIANA

Say that name 10x! We are at Dr Paul’s RV. I woke at 6 am. I don’t think I did that when I was young and working! But I can’t remember! The ride was pretty. It wasn’t so much mountains it was corn and wheat fields going till you can’t see the end! Where are your neighbors.?

    Yummo corn forever!

We stopped for gas and had an accident. SANI scrapped the edge bumper of a new truck. We weren’t going anywhere. We had to wait till the guy could get his boss. We finally got gas and went on our way we got a dent. But, just the experience is upsetting even not much was damaged.

We get to the place and park outside. They are going to hook up us for the night. Sleeping in a parking lot of the mechanic. Okay then! Several men get to work on all the issues. Poor Ghost freaked out when he heard them all on the roof to fix the a/c. He opened the cabinet under the sink and crawled in. POOR KITTY.

When they were gone and said they were done but we are to stay over the weekend so they can be sure it’s fixed! Oh, but of Course we will stay!

When everything settled and it was quiet, we ran to the Amish stores. I must get the pictures from the camera on the phone. The Amish are so cute to watch, like a TV show. The way they dress with their plain cotton dresses and hair in a cap. The boys are so adorable in their suspenders and hats.

If I can figure out how to access my phone photos, I will share them! I’m not happy. There has got to be a way, and I am not techy.

Then there’s the horse-drawn cabs. Some hold 2, others 4, some have a top, and some don’t, and 1 have a windshield! Then driving behind them is tricky. These are mostly 2 lane roads, and you have to judge when to pass them. Once we got stuck with one coming and one in front. Ya have to have a sense of humor.

We went to two places which were the same store called FORKS. They are similar to a local supermarket, but they are run by Amish people. Some of the prices are crazy. For example, we got three packages of sliced Canadian bacon for $1.00. We got marinated pork tenderloins for $1.00 lb. Crazy right? So we didn’t go crazy like in PA. That country store has an aisle discount to die for!

We passed a famous Amish store, theater and restaurant and it was crowded. We will go at some point.

We got back, and the parking lot was nearly empty. It’s okay.

I’m exhausted, so for dinner, I made hot dogs, but I added the leftover veggie chili. Then I roasted some Brussel sprouts, and they turned out better than I thought. Of course, the Guinness before helped with the wine after!

I passed out. Oh I found a suduko book in the fork store. I did the first puzzle, and it was too easy. Maybe it’s starts easy and gets harder the more you do? Hopefully.

Thank you for stopping by this day. It was pretty crazy and all. Hope this gave you a smile. Careful of the heat, drink alot, I mean, water!

  • 7/23&24 still stroudsburg

Honestly I’m getting tired of being here. I have gotten so absurdly frustrated with the internet. I tried yesterday and could not get on all day! Can you be beyond fed up?

Yesterday we all of a sudden went to Price Chopper. I guess after three food stores the day before we still forgot organic strawberries. It wasn’t as crowded as I would have expected. We ended up getting this huge 5lbs of pork pieces. We got other stuff we found on. Sale.

When we got back I tried to get on the internet to no avail. Then I broke down the pork pcs into four meals. It was good when I finished.

I worked on the puzzle but it’s going slow. I’m not good at this stuff. I also get locked into it and drive myself nuts. It’s weird.

We had salad with left over chicken for dinner.

I started a new book the aviators wife will let you know if I like it.

    7/24

Pretty much the same as 23 but we didn’t go anywhere today. Oh yesterday I was outside fixing my plants in the sun when I got bit! It hurt like hell! I ran inside! That was yesterday. That hasn’t happened before? But our neighbor was also outside and got bit also and went inside.

Turns out it was some kind of fly!

Today is hot with a breeze hot sun but nice and I want to try my new chair! So I braved the outside for my 15 mins of sun! I took my book and an ice and read outside. And I didn’t get bit! But, yikes I was out for about 40 minutes and was starting to bake so I packed up and came inside.

I tried to get online but no! Argh! So I tried my puzzle. It looks like I’m getting nowhere. But, El comes by and points out what I did so I feel better.

I’m amazed my black cat is still alive. We didn’t think he would make it this far. We are leaving Tuesday. He is just skin and bones. Eats nothing. If he was 5lbs it would be amazing. It’s so sad.

I made quesadillas with chicken and stuff for dinner. Thanks for hanging in there with me. I probably tell a boring story but hopefully somewhere you smile.

Stay. Safe and healthy. Luv yas

  • 7/23/23 Wakarusa Indiana

I’m still in the parking lot of the RV Dr. The cat has been waking us up and meows in my husband’s ear! Poor guy at 5am. I have been trying to catch up on emails. I have way two many.

I spent a good amount of time writing the blog for the day before. It took a long time. Also, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get pictures from my phone to pad. Still don’t get it.

All of a sudden, he wants to go for a quick ride to Grandma’s Grocery, another Amish market. So we went not too far and found the store. It’s on the main road, I see no horse and buggy, nor any Amish dresses.

We went inside, and the prices were way high. Fresh asparagus $5.99, for example. But, I decided to cook finally, and I needed dill. Given that it was an Amish store, I found dill hand measured in those little plastic containers. I also wasn’t sure I had flour. They had like 10 kinds. I looked for the cheapest and got corn flour over a lb. For $1.83. I thought that was fair.

We came back, and I hung out doing stuff. You know how there is always stuff to do.

Then it’s dinner time. I decided to cook. I can’t hang out in the parking lot. There is nowhere to go outside.. So I made pork schnitzel with dill sauce. It came out better than I thought, yummo! I added green beans and rice.

    Voila!

I’m not sure what makes me so tired. I’m not doing anything! I also noticed that at 9ish at night it’s still light out.

Tomorrow, we have to get up early cause they start work by 7am or earlier, and we will be one of the first issues of the day. They will not be happy that the work they did on Friday didn’t work. Our A/C is still broken. It has a little cold air, but it’s still leaking outside. Bad yes! We may need a new A/C another $900 on top of the hundreds we already paid. But don’t get upset! It’s just one of those things, right?

So my 97 year old mother in law was in a car accident. The pictures of the cars are totaled. Smashed! Lucky for car bags and heavy cars. Thank God, no one was seriously hurt. She is in the hospital and broke a collar bone, and bruised her leg. Thank God that was it. She sounds good on the phone. She is an amazing woman.

After learning that I was mentally gone. I barely remember going to sleep.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog. Please be careful of the heat. Be well and enjoy!

  • 7/24/23 Wakarusa Indiana

We get up early still in the parking lot. These mechanics start at 6 am. so they can work before the heat. So he tested the a/c all weekend, and it had issues. We told the head man, and he sent for an a/c rv expert. Well, as luck would have it! We need a new A/C! NOOOOO! Is there one available? NOOOO,

We had some other things done the thing in the frig was fixed and the new TV gizmo. That work automatically was installed! It’s only money, right?

The head mechanic got it in touch with the guru of A/C repair places. They remarkably have a dented one that works. Besides that dent saves us $500.00!

We decided we are not leaving today but tomorrow early so we can be at the A/c shop by 9am.

We decided to go to Walmart. They are huge but clean. We got basic stuff like juice, some veggies oh and additional curtain rods that are tension rods for the frig. Across the street was Aldi, which was fine since I was burnt out and found ricotta, lemon, basil ravioli perfect for dinner.

We then found a gas station, which I think is our biggest bill of the summer. Although campgrounds are expensive, they charge $100.00 per night and up! These are not the resorts either!

Oh, I forgot to add the best thing of all! They had a little shop inside Walmart selling huge soft pretzels gourmet style. We got almond coated. OmG, it was heavenly delicious! We got Carmel sauce as a dip! Yup, it will hit me, but it was worth every bite!

Oh, I saw 2 interesting things on the way. Some of you know that our town makes turtles for display! This town makes elk

    Elk

    I also saw something confusing.

It’s July, isn’t it? changing a little early? Pretty!

Well, that’s my day. It did get warm in here since the air is not working and we need a new one!

I’m not sure where we go from here. Another town in Indiana. We are lucky we know Paul is the head mechanic. You can’t possibly find this on your own. It’s not what you know but who you know to get in. So I’m grateful for his help. All his help, including the other mechanics, are great guys and know their stuff.

Well, as always, I appreciate that you follow my blog. I hope it gave you a smile! Be careful in the heat. Take care and enjoy!

  • 7/25 & 26/23 Elkhart to Columbia, Indiana

There is not much to tell because both days were mainly on the road.

That’s not totally true. Early in the morning, 6am we are up and getting ready because the workers start early. They showed up and tried some stuff on the a/c to correct what he observed during the weekend. The mechanic called an expert A/C man. He came by and spoke with my husband. Bottom line, he couldn’t fix it. He recommended we need to get a new A /C. We went to another place which deals with only A/C and refrgerators. He looked tried to fix it and finally said we need a new one. OK so he puts another grate in the ceiling to allow for additional air. Then he installed a new a/C. It produced amazing cool air! Aaaah!

I dont remember the time but we went to a nearby campground for the night. We set up and went to Martins, a grocery store that sells liquors. The store was reorganized, so it took a while to figure out where they put stuff. The wines, a huge selection, were normal priced. But, we were used to getting deals. The liquor was fair but not cheap. However, I did get some gin, rum, and of course bourbon!

We went back to the RV, and he dumped the toilet. It’s gross, but it’s got to be done. I didn’t take anything out for dinner. Left overs? Nay! We decided to eat out. We haven’t done that in a while. We went to Callahans thinking it was Greek but was American. However, I found a gyro on the menu and got it. I ordered wine, pinot noir, and it was awful. I should know enough to ask the brand, what do you expect for $5.00! I should have gotten a Heineken same price! But, the gyro was great and huge! I ate half.

We came back, and I was exhausted. I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I went to bed by 8:00! Tried to read and had no idea what I read.

    That was yesterday!

This morning I got up at 7:00 better! Another travel day. We were on the road by 10:40, and we were pretty late for us. The ride was longish, and we ran into waves of rain and wind. It was horrible, and luckily, we made it thru, but it was tense for a while. Especially with an RV and the wind.

We stopped for gas it’s not cheap, even with a discount. A tank of diesel is $79.00. Such is life on the road.

I did get a couple of pictures:

The first are a couple of horses. But, it’s an example. There are horses at almost every house. At the A/c place, the field had Clydesdales, one huge and a baby. But, there were 2 blacks and 2 browns there too!

Second, I finally got an Amish carriage with horses. I’m still figuring out how to get the phone pictures in. I’m not giving up!

Third, fields of hay or wheat that go on forever. They are amazing. They have corn fields like that, too!

The last thing I had to add is this is a typical small house we see a lot. Some have a garage. Even a barn. And a horse. But, crazy how they live in a tiny house. But, they don’t know the difference.

We finally got to the campsite. Oh, I do remember it now that I am here. I made salad for dinner and added a few leftovers. But, we bought HUGE corn on the cob. I usually cook them for 4 mins. They needed an additional 3 mins. Yummo! A little butter and salt I’m in food heaven!

I spoke with my son and he finally took a diabetes pill. Please pray they work for him. Thank you from him and me.

Well that’s it for 2 days. Thanks so much I so appreciate your visit. I hope I provided a smile. Take care in this heat and enjoy!

  • 7/25 &26 somewhere in western Pa off rt80

I didn’t write yesterday because I could not get the internet. It doesn’t matter. It was a rainy day most of it. They predicted the worst but we got rain. But others really got soaked, so I hear.

It was pack up day. I get the inside and he does the outside. You would not think it was organized but it is. I know what is in all the bags and under chairs and tables. It’s a talent!

So today is 7/26. We leave here! Yippee! Don’t get me wrong I like this area and the campground. But, three weeks is way to long for me. Especially when you fight the internet. Also, the weather was hot but bearable. I feel bad for these folks who are suffering in broiling heat some with no a/c.

The mountains were so pretty on the ride here. We are stopped for a day then continue tomorrow to Ohio!

I was worried sick whether Stormy my black cat would make the trip. He cried out a couple of times but hung in there. It’s awful picking him up. He feels like a bag of bones. Hopefully it makes it thru tomorrow so Thursday we can take him to this vet. Please pray he makes it, they are suppose to good vets.

BUT I HAVE A SURPRISE! ……PICTURES! Now I will only do 3 because it messes up something I don’t know the words!

The first picture is a Buddha which is at the corner where we turn in for the campground. I believe it use to be a worship center that is gone!

The next one is my favorite cabin for people who are permanent campers.!

That’s my favorite! Now if your permanent and stay over winter you need to have this at a minimum

Imagine the fires to keep warm in winter!

I have many more so stay tuned. I luv yas who hung in there thru the torturous lack of internet. you know I luv to share pictures. I also know this is not the excitement of my cruises.

I have none so far. But never say never!

Enjoy stay cool and thanks for stopping by.

  • 7/26 East Strasbourg PA

I woke late but I was up and dressed and at breakfast! Our last day here! It went fast I must say. Some days are slower than others.

But, one more trip to the Amish store! It never fails we get such good deals! I took some pictures too!

A pretty garden on the way out of campground
    Delicious corn goes on forever
A amazing long laundry line every time we come

Yup! Once again good deals, beautiful corn on the cob, sauces 1.50, rice cauliflower .69, tea box.99, other stuff 4 bags $24. Crazy!

Came back and it is hilarious how some campers seem so red neck.

Hang your laundry from your awning in your front door? Ok

Well I had to straighten up inside to pack tomorrow. Then I made a yummo dinner! It was complicated with cut up chicken thighs, garbanzo beans, dried apricots, onion, ginger, garlic and a bunch of spices then cook in lemon juice and broth. Yes really it was great!

Well I have the Olympic on TV. But I am staging for tomorrow’s depart. I’m ready to move on!

I think we are headed to Ohio! Hope the cats don’t get sick in the car. I’m going to try some catnip maybe that will calm them. They never use to get car sick? Getting older.

Thanks for sticking with me thru this trip. It is not as exciting as when we cruise but it’s still my travel blog. It amazes me how many followers there are. One is amazing enough. see ya tomorrow!😊

  • 7/27 Elmenton, PA

Up and out we are finally moving on! I do like this campground because it’s a nice place to walk.

We left and drove thru Hersey PA. It is such a nice town with their Hersey kiss lights with pretty flower baskets hanging on the post.

    Silver and brown kisses

When we left I also took a picture of this pretty garden on the road outside the campground.

It was a long drive but the scenery was so pretty. The different trees and mountains.

See how the mtns go just like you drew them as a kid!

I thought that was so fun to see. We also went over the Susquehanna River it’s fairly large.

Well after 4 hours of driving we finally got to our campsite. We didn’t unhook the RV we were leaving in the morning. We had a salad for dinner and corn.

Thanks for coming by to see my photos hope you enjoyed them.

  • 7/27 Loudenville, Ohio

We finally left the place that had no internet! We are down by the river a row away. The river row doesn’t have the electric we need.

The ride was fine for 3 hours compared to the near 6 of yesterday! The Mountain View’s are so pretty. Here are some pictures.

Farm after farm after farm! But so pretty so much land!

Imagine they had to. Cut thru the mountains to put this road thru!

An example of an oil rig on the side of the road. Oil is a big deal in this part of the country.

We got to our site but had trouble getting it to be level. In doing so something bad a spring perhaps turned over. It’s serious so I’m not sure what He will do.

Also we called several vets to take my cat but they had no openings for new members! Imagine too full for a sick cat. After I don’t know how many calls I found one that will see him Friday. Hopefully he hangs on till then.it’s so sad.

Well I’m not happy because of our cat and now RV both sick. It’s raining too today. I tried reading my book. I’m about 2/3 done. It’s an interesting story.

For dinner I took out a cauliflower crust and dumped the refrigerator on it. So Yummo! That’s so fun to do!

Well we decided to take a walk I was glad he wanted to. We walked along the river, apparently many trees were put aside from the storms.

The place is not packed but wait until the weekend. I ate popcorn and cherries for dessert. I’ll pay for that I am sure.

Thanks for stopping by. I am glad I can add the pictures I know most of you enjoy them. I’m glad I have internet so I can add them.

    Be safe and healthy!

  • 7/27/23 Cave City, Kentucky

What a long hot day! We had a bagel with smoked fish for breakfast since we didn’t think we were going to stop for lunch. Then pack up and continue on. At least we are staying for over a week here.

The most interesting thing about the day is driving thru Louisville, Kentucky. We took the hywy that goes thru the city. It is pretty big. The bridge to the city allows you to see it.

This is also the only city that I know of that has a Jewish hospital!

Then of course we have all heard of the:

    Huge stadium!

When we left the city, we were back to the farms and the corn! But this was so high you could barely see over top. When you could, it went on to the skyline! We went to Matins and got some corn on the cob 6 /$3.00.

    Yumo!

Well, we were tired, and the heat is crazy. Now we are in Kentucky, and before in Indiana, we saw signs for wineries. But where are the signs for:

    Now we are talking!

We are camping within the cave park. If you have never seen a cave park, it’s worth a trip. They are around the country in many states.

Well, we finally got our camping spot. It’s a bit strange as we are facing the adjacent campsite. They pulled in the opposite way. We set up and finally took the tomato plants outside. Well, the lower leaves got that yellow on them, so I started to cut them off. I was dripping wet when I came in.

But, ya know while all they talk about here is the high temperature. However, when you come from Florida, you add humidity, and it’s totally unbearable to me. That is actually why we go away in our RV.

We ate dinner, the first one we didn’t like! A pasta recipe with feta cheese. Once in a while, the recipe is not as good as it appears. It happens, luckily for me, not often.

We were so tired I went to bed around 8:30, thank goodness we have a/c! We would be in trouble if it didn’t get fixed. I watched TV and read my book. I read till I have no clue what I read. I know I’m sleepy.

Tomorrow is expected to be up in the 90s. Thank you for reading my blog. I hope I have given you a smile. Be careful in this heat and enjoy!

  • 7/28 bad day!

The day started out with my other cat heaving yellowing foam. It was early in the morning. We were so upset . We think he caught whatever the other cat has. Meanwhile, he can’t use his legs now.

I called the vet and asked if I can bring the other cat too since he seems sick as well. We pray we caught it soon enough. thank God they agreed to move schedules and we can bring him tomorrow.

Then something happened when we leveled the RV. Something with a spring in the axels? El was upset and be sides himself up all night and worried.

However he did plenty of research and read how it might be fixed. We had to close the slides and move it forward with the wheels going over high pieces of wood. Bang, they did fix the problem.

That was a majority of the day. By afternoon I was so depressed but we decided to do laundry. Luckily they were not being used. Except the dryer would not dry the clothes. Only one worked real well. So it took twice the time and $$. Quarters not the fancy credit card machines.

Then we had trouble getting reservations to move on. You leave a message and wait and wait and wait for them to call you back.

Add this up and it was a bad day. I made a pork tenderloin and apple dish. It was delicious!

My white cat keeps gaging up yellow foam. Didn’t eat and slept all day. It so hurts our hearts.

We did take a walk around the place. Amazing how everyone loves camping by the river. We heard that a tornado touched down here.

The size of those trees are huge!

Oh and this is my fantasy motorcycle!

A Harley three wheels. It was shiny clean, there were leather covers on the wheels and the seat in the rear has arms. It’s crazy!

Thanks for stopping by. Pray my cats get help tomorrow we have vet appts for them in the afternoon. I hope they can help.😢

  • 7/28/23 Saturday cave city Kentucky

We have been here before. But, somehow, my husband remembers every detail of every campsite. I can’t remember anything! How is that possible. When we get to each one, I see something I remember, and then I get it!

However, it is not only my problem. You ask him which country does the vesuvius volcano is located, he could say spain! I remember the cruise stops. He remembers the camping stops, not a bad combination!

We are not going anywhere today. Just hang out. We have been traveling for a while. My tomatoes are outside, but I go to water them and realize that they suffered in the RVs shower. I get a bag and scissors and start cutting off the dead leaves. They got that yellowing disease on the leaves, so I have to cut all of that off, too. A lot is gone, but they usually recover.

I spent a lot of time doing this, and by the time I quit, it was nearly supper time. But, supper was easy because we bought this cook in bag seasoned chicken breast. Put in oven and there’s dinner! It was good.

We are at war with flies. Constantly. Every time we go in and out, a fly or two comes in. Too bad Stormy, our black cat, is gone. He enjoyed catching them with his hand and thumb. Of course, then he would look at what he caught, and off it would go!

They are a pain during dinner. We have to keep our food covered! So he devised a plan.,

Yup, place a piece of chicken on the table and slam got him!

It sort of feels good not to do anything. My plants took a lot of time. I took off a bunch of dead limbs and leaves.

We only have 3 channels on TV. Big yuck! So I have a book to read and my computer to go thru. It has too much over 100 promotions and 100 emails and social over the top. I’m trying to catch up.

Well, it’s early, and my life today is not exciting, but that’s OK.

I hope my fly story made you smile! Luv yas, and thanks so very much for stopping by. Stay cool and enjoy!

  • 7/29 Loudenville Ohio

A very sad day. We had breakfast and took the cats to the vet.

Stormy, our black cat, had to be put down. He lost sensation in his legs, his kidneys stopped working and his liver disease was out of control He was 5 lbs. It was hard to say goodbye. He was 10 yrs.

Ghost, our whitish cat, also 10yrs was checked. They took bloods, gave us specialty food. They found an ear infection so We got meds and bought ear wash. They gave him a shot of something. But, he is a bit better talking, drank a little water and food.

The vet didn’t think he got what Stormy had. She thought it could be stress because he new Stormy was in trouble. Could be?

We were sad to leave without Stormy. We got home and I put together dinner. Red snapper in an excellent tomato, onion and garlic sauce with spices. There was couscous with lentils and frozen peas. Also a large glass of wine!

I am starring at the TV. Ghost is by my side. I’m trying to follow game shows. It will be hard to sleep without Stormy. He was my bud.

Thanks for stopping by. I wish I had better news.

  • 7/29&30 cave city kentucky

Actually, there is not much to write about because it is so freaking hot outside that you melt from the heat! Not like in FL where you melt from humidity.

I’m bored and have nothing to write about. I have spent a good part of each day cutting the dead leaves and yellow leaves and wilted branches off my plants. They look a bit sick, but they are healthy….that doesn’t seem right?

Anyhow, one fell, and I read that if you put the green ones in a paper bag with an apple, they will turn red. We will see almost 30 fell off. Sad to lose them.

Yesterday, I had to come in my back hurt from feeling the sun thru my shirt!

I spent the day doing emails and hitting delete a lot.

I did go to Facebook and somehow got on, I guess, videos? It was very entertaining with all the outstanding singing from all sorts of places. Some well know folks, others family, American idol and such.

Then I made dinner both nights. Yesterday was pork tenderloins and Yummo, and then salad with leftover chicken.

Our a/c is doing fine. Yippee!

I haven’t been out long enough to take pictures, but this is the view from Sani. Our RV

Pretty right, I love red trees!

Well, thanks for stopping by it is always appreciated. Please be safe in this heat, drink lots of water, and enjoy!

  • 7/30 Loudensville, Ohio Wally’s world!

It was hard to start the day. I didn’t sleep real well. I miss my cat. But, I slept on and off until 10:30am. That’s late for even me!

We had breakfast and went to the office to see if they accept mail. Then I ordered liver pills for ghost, my white cat. By the time we finished breakfast it was 1:30pm. A new one for us.

So we went to join the watermelon crawl. An event at the campground. You go from campsite to campsite, the ones participating, who hand out small cups of drinks, alcoholic. Most were vodka or rum mix. It was so fun and we got to talk to the other campers.

We came back to make dinner. Burgers with salad and corn. We stopped at the grocery store just before checking in.

When that was done we went to listen to a guitar player sing country music. We brought our chairs. Many of the guys that went on the crawl were there. I guess you can call them red necks. Guzzling beer and the jobs they did or do are just different than what I am use to hearing about. It was so interesting. They were fun too!

When the sun went down it got chilly so I had go come back to the camper.

It was a good day to move on. I still see him everywhere but I will keep him in my heart.

Thanks to those who commented about our loss. Thanks for stopping by. Luv yas
